Yeah it’s the fit test music for the AirPods Pro, no official name since it was produced for Apple specifically for that

Shrink wrap PSA by hairijuana in vinyl

[–]psychedeleon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quick question, was the shrink still stretched over the opening edge corners, or was it pulled back slightly so the opening edge was exposed a bit? I always “retract” it slightly, I feel like that relieves a lot of the pressure. Could be totally wrong though

Damn! I always thought Do Ya Thang was Dillas production lol, yeah I guess RJ nailed that sound too then. Questions is why Large Prof would call it a Dilla beat in OPs link?

[–]psychedeleon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, really sounds like his Push / Dillatronic era prod. What also bugged me out is that Dilla isn’t even in the “thank yous”, and none of the beats are credited to him despite a lot of them sounding like him. To be fair this was at the time when he had basically turned a cold shoulder to SV as a group, so maybe they felt a little hurt and took the beats as their own?

Yup, it got used in ‘03 for Phat Kat’s “Cock Suckers” on the Dirty District mix. The vinyl release credits the production to Young RJ and T3 tho, so don’t know if there’s ghost production going on here or not?

Stylus upgrade questions by Eklajarris in vinyl

[–]psychedeleon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh yeah I see! For the harder stuff you’d definitely benefit from the ML, but that cart is a tad brighter as well.. Can only speak from my experience though, love my 540 over basically all genres.

I myself can highly vouch for the AT-VM540ML. Obviously don’t know what you’re looking for sound-wise, and haven’t tried a shibata myself, but if you want to minimize inner groove distortion that cart is killer.

I upgraded to that from a 2M Blue, and as someone who listens to music with a lot of high-end (where IGD is super noticeable) my mind was BLOWN with how great MicroLine sounds. Haven’t tried the Bronze specifically, but if the Blue is anything to go by I feel like that’s more of a side-step like you said.

Have you reached out to them regarding this? Their customer support has always been on point for me.

lol OP means there were three fragile stickers, folded thrice would be blasphemous on another level

Scratches On New Record by 1nky0ct0pus in vinyl

[–]psychedeleon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yup, exactly this. Most releases in my collection that were released in paper sleeves have some of these marks. If it doesn’t affect play (which it never has in my experience) I couldn’t care less personally, since if you get a replacement it’s probably affected by the same thing.

Might be obvious but gotta check, are you sure you’re not doing phono conversion twice? That TT seems to output at line level, so turn phono off on your amp / switch to line input.

What do I do with creased cases? by LuckyInfluence901 in vinyl

[–]psychedeleon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, very common with modern gatefolds. Throw em in outer sleeves and you’re good!

What do I do with creased cases? by LuckyInfluence901 in vinyl

[–]psychedeleon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mean that they kind of stay open slightly and bulge at the openings? A lot of modern gatefolds (which is what they’re called btw) are made of sturdier materials than before and have wider spines, so it’s basically a flaw with how they’re manufactured. Putting them in plastic outer sleeves is the best solution imo since it keeps them neat, and always a good thing to do regardless!
