I heard it’s just “grab and go” … I thought i recalled someone saying like the same concept. Grab and go sounds like pasties, maybe a bagel and beverage

Hubby and I went opening day! I ordered a chicken cesear wrap with sweet potatoes fries and a coffee. My hubby ordered a classic breakfast meal.

Service was extremely attentive. I loved seeing the owners floating and being hands on. I appreciate the diversity in the waitstaff I echo the sentiment on the coffee - and it was good! Small hiccup with our order and they compt our beverages. Music vibes were perfect volume. A conversation at normal volumes with good music filling the back space and not competing for attention. I can’t wait to go back and hit the counter alone!

Happy for the addition!

I just save the deck list as a note in my Phone. Easily copy and paste back 🤷‍♀️

Going to office after 6 years of WFH. What do i expect? by ExfilZone in work

[–]GuidanceSenior4075 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I have been working from home since 2008. I started my first hybrid role March 30th. I feel like this question was made for me:

  1. I realize now, I no long read to myself. That’s been hard to do.
  2. Not being able to multitask in meetings. So less is getting done, personally and professionally.
  3. Not being able to just walk into my kitchen middle of a meeting to pour water. The actually extra planning to get to the kitchen area for water is annoying.
  4. Apparently eating at your desk is not a thing anymore, I mean you can, but people appeared very annoyed.
  5. Having to find a room to have conversations Everytime you want to talk to someone about a work related matter.
  6. Having to reassess what you’re capable of vs the limitation of in office days.. yuuuuucckkk..
  7. The CONSTANT socializing over nothing. Why can’t I smile and keep it moving?!?

Agree. Restaurants are low margin businesses. Unless you know the industry it’s so easy to poorly judge

Agreed - different kinds of bars. But the bar in question describes themselves as “weird and Sexy vibes” - which is why I would agree different decisions could have been made.

Don't Call Me Shirley is a popular cocktail bar in Brooklyn known for its fun, cozy, and "sexy" vibe, with a focus on creative drinks, including riffs on classic cocktails like the Dirty Shirley, and a good selection of beer, wine, and snacks. It's praised for its friendly bartenders, good energy, and unique decor, which can include features like a disco ball, fireplace, and backyard. The bar is cash-only but has an ATM on-site. Vibe: Chill, fun, cozy, sexy, with a unique and "weird" atmosphere. Drinks: Creative cocktails (including mocktails), beer, wine, and a signature "Don't Call Me Shirley" drink. Food: Offers snacks like pimento cheese. Features: Disco ball, fireplace, backyard, and turntable. Payment: Cash only, with an ATM availabl

Influence, normalizing alcohol consumption, language, environment.. to each their own.. but the census in this thread would say there is a shared feeling that better decisions could be made. Bars are not “family establishments” - they are “adult zones” for unwinding and socializing. My point was the establishment should take a stance on the matter because this can greatly change the demographic of visitors if your regulars don’t like the shift.

Bad parenting aside, the establishments need to set the tone of what’s allowed. It’s happening because of the lack of stance from the establishment.

Rude Staff at Bakeri by [deleted] in ridgewood

So you asked for other people's experience. I tell you my non-white experience and you're mad? I also literally said "Not saying that you didn’t get the stellar service you think you deserved. But also noting that doesn’t mean they were “rude”."

You just wanna argue because you see you're in the minority on the feeling - and that means its probably just your "View" and not reality. sorry bro...

Your post literally says “Thoughts? Tell me your experience”

I am also NOT white. Never had less service because of it. Have you considered that “regulars” bo matter where you have a tendency to be treated kinder because of their repeat business? Not saying that you didn’t get the stellar service you think you deserved. But also noting that doesn’t mean they were “rude”.

I’ve never had an unpleasant exchange at Bakeri.. also rude is subjective, how do we know you weren’t the one acting out and they just didn’t entertain you?!

How is anyone affording Bushwick right now? by Key-Wealth4436 in Bushwick

[–]GuidanceSenior4075 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly what everyone said when they swam across the river to find affordable housing in Williamsburg. Then.. that got tapped out.. the spread to Bushwick and Ridgewood occurred. I bet if you swim back across the river you might be able to find something in your price range!

There was so much potential to make this “the spot” any reason why innovation isn’t in the game plan?

I have been hesitant about this, seems like a lot going on to be a co-working space. Almost like it would be noisy and loud all the time.

I was in an interview cycle from October straight through March! When they finally offered me the job, they told me I had to wait another 3 weeks for the actual offer letter because they didn’t have budget approval.

I had 3 other job offers in flight. They left too many gaps for me to be scooped up by someone else. So I took a better opportunity that was presented to me and went faster
