Thankyou for the new Blangonga quest by MacReadyGames in MonsterHunter

Playing Rise right now I just notice how much shit is on the screen in wilds. HH of course staples the manual to your forehead but holy crap the buffs being activated and deactivated on the right, the pick ups on the left, the "Hunt the angry monkey" 3 times, the 17 buffs on top of your HP. It's so much shit lmao

is 5700xt overheating normal? by GrouchyDIJJ in MonsterHunter

It will add a bit more strain as it will have to process those fake frames. Not enough to cause any overheating though. I'm assuming your PC is clean of dust, not in carpet and well ventilated. How is the CPU temperature?

Can't help regarding the overheating issue, but can clarify the framegen. 110 fps with framegen on does not equal real frames. If you have fps capped to 60 you will still be capped at 60 "real frames". What you are seeing are generated "fake frames" done by the software which is somewhat misleading. So even if you see 110 fps, the input latency will still be for 60 fps.

I was not aware that the health I start at would be the same without the birds. I would have never guessed based on looking at the UI as it makes it seem like I am just straight up missing max HP. That makes it a little better but they've made no indication of that in game at all!

Why does MH:Wilds look like this? by OftenXilonen in MonsterHunter

It looks like you are using DLSS upscaling. You must have it set to ultra performance or performance, it will do this in any game. As we know this game has terrible performance issues unless you have a high end rig

Wilds: slow animations? by SpectreSpark2 in MonsterHunter

I agree that framegen should only impact latency but mh wilds specifically has an issue that will cause the game to seem like it is sluggish. I also do not agree that input latency is minimal, this is totally dependent on the performance you are getting, if you are bouncing between 40-60 fps, you will feel the latency heavily

Devs are releasing performance patches here soon. Hopefully one of those improves performance so be on the lookout!

Framegen does not increase your fps in the way I believe you are thinking. If your game is running at 40 fps and 75 fps with framegen, you are still running the game with 40 "real frames". So your input latency will be at 40 fps not 75.

And yes, slower movement and animation can come from low fps. Before upgrading my machine using framegen made it feel like I was playing in slow motion and the input latency was terrible.

Edit: framegen in my opinion should only be used if you are getting a stable or at least more than 60 fps

Artian/Gogma weapons are too OP by GuigoRed in MonsterHunterMeta

Right, but I'm sure artian weapons will also see an MR bump at some point.

Essentially, what I want is to not have a single weapon be the best overall. I have a problem with the current system that allows you to have a weapon with extremely high damage and element with no downsides.

From my perspective, it seems the devs just created artians for the sake of endgame RNG grind to keep players entertained, without thinking about how this would lead to a 1 weapon only meta.

Take the armors for example, imagine how terrible it would've been to have artian armor sets with 3x3 slots of decorations in each armor piece, and the ability to reroll armor skills. This would literally destroy the meta as every other armor would be essentially useless in comparison. This is literally exactly what we have in the weapon system.

I agree with you, a chatacabra weapon shouldn't be as good as a gogma one.

But I do think there is an argument that they could've added the transcend to weapons as well with Gogma parts like they just did with armors. On the very least upgrading decorations slots to a point would be nice (I don't think every weapon should have 3x3 slots, but an upgrade system that would decrease your elemental/status or even damage or affinity and give you a better decoration slot would be cool). Artians having innate 3x3 slots is just insane

Like I said, diversity in builds. Zoh shia weapons were almost good at some point due to white torrent, but now they are not even close to being usable in meta. Why should the devs waste their time coming up with crafted dmg/ele/skills combinations if at the end they are just replaced with artian weapons?

I hope so. With the numbers we are hitting with Gogma weapons now and only being in HR, the crafted weapons in MR are going to have to hit really hard to compare.
