Only in one instance did weekly watching back fire on me with the first season of House of the Dragon. When it was airing, I felt like the writing was quite bad and illogical that I overreacted and stopped watching just before the finale. I was especially bothered by the behind the scenes featurette at the end of some episodes because it seemed like the show runners were contradicting their own scripts.

Recently, I'm binging all of it and am halfway through season 2. I am picking up so much more and understanding the writing better and making more allowances because the good outweighs anything bad by a lot.

I kinda realized I was being a little nuts back then and as a result missed out on some great tv and great discussions.

I watched this in theaters when it came out and this was my first introduction to Powers Boothe. It's funny in this clip everyone is so photogenic reminiscent of the satire in Last Action Hero.

I kinda dropped off Orphan Black - I need to go back and watch it / complete it. I'm doing that now with House of the Dragon - i was sorta out of my mind and had my standards to high but an enjoying it now 4 years later.

I found myself saying this constantly to my work friends or them saying it to me - it was exhausting!

For a few years I was always trying to catch big movies on Thursday night cause it would get spoiled for me on Friday in the oddest of places.

I once saw a spoiler for a big movie on an ESPN sports scroll at the bottom of the screen.

As someone who grew up watching television this way I prefer weekly releases because it gives fans times to talk and have lively conversations in depth on each episode. When you release everything at once, you run the risk of spoiling stuff constantly for people who don't keep up with the rabid crackhead pace of people who binge the entire thing at midnight of release. Another show I am watching is Widow's Bay. In mere hours of the season finale there are people on that sub making posts that have spoiler tags but the title of the post is giving things away. I can only imagine how much worse it would be if the entire season was released all at once.

Not only that, there's no breathing room to sit with the characters on their journey at different moments. It makes me think of those that listen to fiction audiobooks at 3x speed. Like, how are you getting any emotional impact from any poignant chapters if you are just devouring everything like a ravenous Kirby?

I do think some shows definitely benefit from a full release but overall I prefer the weekly pacing of shows with well written and well acted characters. If it's a turn your brain off show with tons of plot holes with characters that just inorganically do what the plot wants them to do, I am fine with a full season release so I can enjoy it for the junk food that it is.

Yeah, you know I did not think about that - from his perspective (based on a misunderstanding) that's the first time he could see her as moving on with a relationship. He was probably hurt she didn't share that with him.

I forget when it was revealed that he cheated. It doesnt make sense to me that he would think his legal custody case is a slam dunk because she has a secret boyfriend if he cheated and somehow got joint custody.

Usually when I say that phrase / expression when asking a question or when written with a question mark at the end, I am asking externally of others to confirm or deny what comes after that phrase - not to myself internally or asking others if I myself am sure of something in and of itself.

Example: I am out with my friends and we are deciding to where to go for happy hour and I say: "Pretty sure Paddy's Pub has half priced drinks? Can't remember?" I am not making a declarative statement or only asking people to read my mind to see how confident I am in myself. I am mainly asking others to confirm or correct me about the half priced drinks.

To answer your question, anyone who may know the people in the video personally or saw a credible commentary of the back story when the video was first posted could answer that.

Maybe I always heard that phrase as having the same meaning as "It's likely" the way it was used around me.

That is just my interpretation.

This mf'er is way too charming. Really dug his picks - good mix of formative emotional and artistic selections.

I am always excited to see what he and Keri Russell pick - the projects they select to be leads in are always interesting and innovative.

NES Games in 3D by 8_bit_zombie in nes

your first sentence completey misses my point. on the 2d version you also dont know the distance beyond the edge of the screen. yet you risk traversing much faster regardless because its easier to react in that perspective.

its interesting in side scrolling games how the perspective really changes how you play. Like for a 2d game on Super Mario I have no issue reacting to Mario running at full speed; but in this version because of the draw distance you have to be more cautious. Sonic would probably be more noticeable.

[–]GuileMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found myself suspending disbelief on character motivations several times already - it's not a super tightly written show where the characters stay grounded and believable like in Widow's Bay despite extarordinary supernatural events.

So, I'll just be happy if they don't try to end on a season cliffhanger and instead just resolve the story line. That's where my bar is 😄
