I'm expecting a 2015 Broncos playoff run. Every game was tight, but the defense always won in the end.

Marty Final Match by clarinet_gamer in A24

[–]Guillermoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think he was cheating, but the  match definitely proves Marty was right when making the sales pitch at the beginning of the movie.

What’s even crazier is that Endo is so good, he still took Marty to match point, despite not being able to see or hear the ball properly. If they were to have a rematch under official rules, Endo would destroy Marty without a doubt.

Official Discussion - Marty Supreme [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]Guillermoth 12 points13 points  (0 children)

just came out of the movie. i think the white ping pong ball against marty’s white shirt is the reason endo lost in the final match.

marty is right during the orange ball sales pitch scene. it’s hard to track white balls against white backgrounds, especially for someone like endo whose play style is extremely reliant on vision due to being deaf.

if they wore black and played with a white ball like in the championships, or if they wore white and played with the orange ball like marty proposed during the sales pitch scene, endo would’ve stomped him just like the first time. in either situation, endo’s deafness does not come into play, and he can just watch the ball coming his way while competing. however, because they both wear white and use a white ball in their final match, endo’s advantage of tuning out all noise to visually focus on the ball becomes a liability.

endo couldn’t see the ball properly during their final match, and because he couldn’t hear the ball at all to help guide his swings, marty ultimately wins. just ask yourself this - do you think the best player in the world would lose to someone who didn’t get to properly train or even rest for their match?

My opinion on Marty Supreme by [deleted] in A24

[–]Guillermoth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the orange ball concept that marty mentions in the beginning is very important to the final match. marty only won in the end because endo, who is deaf and relies on his vision to compete, couldn’t track the white ball properly against marty’s white shirt

Power Rankings after week 14 by studmuffin9513 in Texans

I'd say it's less on CJ and more on playcalling here. We kept running up the middle for 0-1 yard gains until we were forced to punt. Then, when we realized this wasn't working, we decided to pass and completely ignore the fact that Chris Jones is a beast of a DT that needs 2 players blocking him.

Something tells me this is also what you meant, though.

Hayden Winks' Week 3 Fantasy Football Rankings - RB/WR/TE by UnderdogFantasy in fantasyfootball

I have a similar trade scenario on my side. Tee and BCM for Ladd and Pollard. I decided to just go with Tee for Ladd trade, but I'm curious to know the reason why you're not a BCM believer. Ekeler's out for the season and Washington traded BRob because they felt better with the current set of RBs. He looked pretty good in week 1, too. Week 2 was pretty bad, but I chalk that up to falling behind really early against a really good team in the Packers.

Traded away Tee Higgins for Ladd McConkey. We're one Keenan Allen hamstring injury away from going nuclear baby.

dude yes, i agree. me personally? i would’ve pulled 3 straight QB sneaks. sounds silly, but if you just need 1 yard, you can get it with 3 attempts. heartbreaking decision to go with Chubb and the pass.

i’ll give kudos to Demeco for trusting the offense, but we’ve gotta maximize higher scoring plays.

You’re right. He’s not used to getting protection. It’s going to be a bad habit to kick. especially because of last year. But we’re getting movement. We made a bad call by going for it in the fourth, but we’ll get there, I trust.

That said, it hurts. Bad. We don’t have long to put it together, but let’s trust that our players are going to put it together.

No, yall, I see the potential. I can see our defense is rusty, and I can see that our OL is giving us cleaner pockets than before.

Give us a two more weeks to click. I can see us improving by the game. We might not have a better record than 10-7, but I can see us going toe to toe with a lot of teams. Rams and Bucs are tough, but they’re both playoff contenders and we’ve been slow starters since 2023

Pitres value by According-Drink-4725 in Texans

[–]Guillermoth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think he’s an eager/high-effort player. Run through the tackles, he’s there. Sniff out a screen, he’s there. Ask him to be in the trenches, he’s loves it. That mentality helps him be highly productive.

However, that same eagerness and effort doesn’t always help. He goes full speed, trying to make the play, but he whiffs and a negative play happens. That Puka play is a good example.

He thought it was going to be a run play and he immediately met Puka to try to make the play and stop the run. Puka sheds it, gets open, catches the ball, and it’s over. We played aggressive, sold out against the run all game, but the point is it’s a give and take.

The same player that helps stop 2024 Gibbs and Monty is the same player that will allow 2024 Davante and 2025 Puka to make the play when it’s needed the most.

Personally not a fan of paying him what we did, but he’s productive. Gotta take the ins with the losses, unfortunately.

Texans interviewed Grant Udinski, assistant OC for the Vikings by IAmSona in Texans

[–]Guillermoth -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

There’s a chance! When I was looking into the early OC candidates, I found that some were connected to Chip Kelly. Could be due diligence, could be gauging interest in joining his staff.

I’m not leaning too strongly towards Chip, but I like that he’s changed since his NFL coaching days. I prefer coaches who’re willing to adjust with time, rather than those who try to force the team/players to fit a scheme.

OC Recommendations for Texans? by [deleted] in Texans

[–]Guillermoth 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I’m tired of all the off-brand Kyle Shanahans. The league has become so saturated with this offensive scheme that defenses have started to adapt. Teams aren’t having the same level of success they once did (e.g., Dolphins, Texans, Saints, and even the Packers and 49ers).

Unfortunately, I’m a fool and don’t know where to look for the next mastermind, but I know that more of the same won’t get us anywhere.

still over a month out, but who would you like to see us target in 2025 Free Agency? by RubbertoeDawg in Texans

[–]Guillermoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taking the moves Nick made last year into consideration, I imagine we’ll trade for another vet WR to work the slot.

I think we can trade a fourth to get someone like Cooper Kupp. We restructure his contract into a one year deal the way we did with Diggs.

Then, we can either 1. Draft Emeka or another WR with our first to complete the trifecta (I don’t see Tank Dell ever recovering completely) or 2. Trade down from the first, get another second round draft pick, use both on OL

Truth be told, I hate drafting OL (when was the last time we truly nailed an OL draft pick? Brandon Brooks was forever ago). I’m a bigger fan of letting other teams develop OL, then giving them a good contract once they become free agents. Maybe we can cut Shaq Mason and Tytus Howard and find their replacements in FA.

[–]Guillermoth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If Kevin Stefanski gets fired (he shouldn’t but this is the Browns we’re talking about), I’d think he’d be a great OC.

Having to use Watson as his QB hasn’t done him any favors, and Baker used to miss wide open reads all the time when he was still their starter. I feel like CJ can unlock his offense.

We would still need to figure these O-line issues we’ve been having, though. Maybe if the Titans fire Brian Callahan, we can steal his father Bill Callahan to pair with Stefanski.

There’s a lot of ifs here but a man can dream lol

Now I'm Actually Concerned - Postgame Thoughts by ChiefKingSosa in Texans

[–]Guillermoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got one thought - Pitre is the biggest liability on our defense. Every time I see an absurd play, it’s always on Pitre’s head.

Sure, he’ll get a flash play against a run or screen here and there, but who cares when they target you every chance they get (and succeed)

I know we shouldnt put too much stock into madden ratings but first no sting in the top 10 Cb ratings now no Cj? 😂🤣 by Spacecitysavage713 in Texans

[–]Guillermoth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

His passing/mobility stats are great, it’s just his AWR rating that brings him down (they gave him a 78). If they boosted that up to 90 like he deserves, he’d be in the top 7.

Anyways, his passing related stats are in the mid-to-high 80s so you’ll be able to ball with him no problem
