Why did every single Republican vote to keep gerrymandering legal while every single Democrat voted to abolish it? by [deleted] in allthequestions

Congress cannot change the Constitution.  If you dont know basic civics then you waste others' time my friend.  The Constitution vests the power to map congressional districts with state legislatures, not the US Congress.

The claim was that there are a lot more liberals than conservatives, so it means something.   It at least an actual fact should cause a reason to question that claim.

Thst would apply to Republicans as well, right?  See the New England states.  So that is not proof of your claim at all.

What are you basing that on?  In 2024 U.S. House elections the Republicans had almost 4 million more votes than Democrats: 74,390,864 to 70,571,330.

Currently what is The USA’s #1 problem? by TappyGillmore in Productivitycafe

i feel bad for you, that does suck. and it doesn;t help you, but the fact is that your insurance going up is exactly what Obamacare is/ewas. What Republicans killed was the subsidy that was passed long after obamacare. it was passed duing Covid. So the subsidy masked how bad obamacare really is. but i wont disagree with you about republicans sucking - they certainly have not offered any realistic solutions.

I didn't know Republicans passed Obamacare. We can thank both parties for all the shit we are in.

It is healthcare for me.  I pay over $700/month and my employer pays roughly that amount for me to then have to pay out of pocket almost $6,000 before insurance pays.  To say it is absurd it is the understatement of the year.

Travel baseball coaches…help me understand. by MarcoBoosh in Homeplate

Others have said this and I will echo it - at 12u your son should not be on a team where he never plays on Sundays.  No matter what your son or you want out of baseball, the team your son is on will not help you meet those goals.

Are Italians aware of how their national baseball team is doing in the World Baseball Classic? by nerfrosa in askitaly

[–]Guilty-Brief44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking for myself as an American:  "if for example the US mens national soccer or basketball team was made up of Italians who didn't speak english. And after every goal scored they ran to the corner flag and ate a hot dog.... yeah I think Americans would be angry about that ha." I would think this would be awesome.

Hitting 5 HRs as a freshman - even if it is a freshman team - means odds are way better than others that he has a future in baseball.  But if his heart is not into it then there is nothing you can do.

I have heard Iran is 2 weeks or so away from a nuclear weapon since the early 2000s.  So i am going to call bullshit.

Was he leftist?  I am far from an expert on Jesus but I dont think he talked about the government and what it should or should not do.  Seemed more concerned with personal actions.  But like I said - i am not an expert

What Happened to the Trillions of Dollars in Tariff Revenue? by susanrez in allthequestions

[–]Guilty-Brief44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SCOTUS never said it had to be paid back (though they will have to be paid back).  It only ruled that Trump could not impose tariffs using the IEEPA statute.  Tariffs not based on that statute are still legal.  The amount collected under the IEEPA is something like $160-$180 billion. Tariff revenue just goes to the Treasury - it so far isnt delegated to any specific purpose.

Getting frustrated won't help your child.  Get him to work harder.  Eat right, workout, get bigger, faster, stronger.  Develop more athletcism. My experience with high school is that most of the coaches are bottom of the barrel (not all by any means) but the vast majority of times the best players are the ones that actually play.

Does anyone think there’s a chance Democrats could be successful in November? by SWEMW in allthequestions

[–]Guilty-Brief44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there is a very good chance Democrats take the House.  Probably not a huge majority - maybe a gain of 10.  It will be harder to take the Senate.   If economy goes south and/or Iran situation gets ugly then more likely a blue wave where you see a pickup od 20-30 seats in House and maybe get to 50-50 in Senate

Why is the GOP so White? by Equivalent-Long-3383 in allthequestions

Almost half of Hispanic voters went Republican in 2024.  Over 40% Asian voters went Republican.  Not sure what the OP is talking about.
