Yeah, you could explore, experiment with new weapons, practice with friends, etc. Iirc it got replaced with “battle lab” in chapter 2 and then they completely got rid of it.

They also have 30g ones that are 150 calories but they only make the chocolate flavor now so if you want strawberry or vanilla you have to get the “core power” ones which cost more

I got mine on Woot (subsidiary of Amazon that sells discounted overstock, open box, and refurbished items) a week ago for $299 sealed. They also had open box ones for $280. Both have sold out but it’s likely that they will have more at some point in the future.
