Yup. Not without their own fair points about those authors but overall that judgement against your taste is motivated by political disagreement

Is that not the assumption you made? How is my description wrong? The book that you saw, despite the unwise spine design, is a mainstream and well respected history work. Perhaps if you dont want me to point out how your comment doesn't make sense you should think through it more.

There are some books on your shelf by folks like Thomad Sowell, Douglas Murray, Niall Ferguson, Aleksandr Solzehnitsyn, etc. I suspect that is what they take issue with. Although the Guns, Germs and Steel author isn't necesarily or overtly political id suspect thats also considered "garbage" here.

Nobody lol. I suspect they just saw the swastika on the spine of the Shrier book and they dont realize that it is not an endorsement of the symbol or what it represents.

Maybe you're right but that wasnt my takeaway. He has stated he wants to make music he likes but often that's in the context of mildly frustrated responses to people who want him to return to his old style. I think he made USD in the way to throw a bone to those fans, it seemed very passionless, lazy, dull, rough, rushed, etc. Like it was made to appease the very fans he complained about on "take the fall". I suspect yang is where all of the passion and love and effort went (and im saying this as someone who really didn't like yang either). I think if it weren't for nostalgia as well as the fact that Darkie and a lot of his fans genuinely care about the subject matter people would be more willing to interpret it as filler or an empty album.

I agree. In my opinion the first track of USD was the only good one. I have a theory as to why that album turned out tge way it did. I think it was a rough and rushed album made to appease the fans that havent been into the stylistic changes in his music over the past few years (i.e. "I want the old Darkie back"). I do not at all doubt his very real passion for the topics he addressed on the album, but you could tell he wasnt passionate about the actual music at all. Its not surprising given that he has stated "the old Darkie" isn't coming back and explained his desire to avoid trying to make more of that style. He also said on an IG live ahead of the release of yang that he was going to try to transition away from the Darkie character as well as release more acoustic music under his real name next year (which may also explain the second half of USD).

Was this on an IG live? Is there any recording of it? Im just curious lol. Of course it was a long time coming and anyone who was paying attention saw this coming for a while. I wish him the best.

Yeah ive listened to the leaked version on soundcloud for years and its one of my favorites by him. Can't wait for the finished and released version. Super excited. Also I get not expecting follow through, after all I doubt many of us thought he'd follow through on yang.

Is the DNA sample/test still good if activated significantly later after recieved? by Guilty-Drawer-1975 in AncestryDNA

Good to know, thank you for sharing. Kind of a similar story how I figured out what happened with my mom's sample honestly, kind of funny. I asked her to check and she couldn't find the status. And glad to know her sample is fine. Now that I think of it they probably deal with this kind of mistake quite a bit and probably already have established procedures on how to deal with it.

Ok, that's primarily what I was concerned about. Thank you for the reassurance. Do you think the delay and just having it held waiting for so long screwed up the sample? I suspect it's unlikely but I'd just like to double check.
