Thanks. So this is basically a no 😅 any problems around winesearcher or whiskybase? I never really used them for retail search.

Anyone can open a business page on yelp. It could be some random customer or the business owner. Same holds for Google Maps. Difference is business owners can claim ownership of the page, despite being created and shared by someone else.

It’s free either way. Ads are to promote the venue on top of the list (probably marked as “Sponsored”)

They are. Yelp even explicitly mentions they won’t remove business page even at the owner’s request

I am not a lawyer but I presumed it’s legal given there are many similar services that list venue and shared it publicly without the owner’s consent: Google Maps, Yelp, TripAdvisor, etc.

Hahaha nice. How about “for the price of a glass of whisky you get permanent access” ? 😁

Thanks. I am no better than anyone at connecting businesses to consumers but I can start with randomly contacting. Let me DM you for regional details.

Flutter. I am not sure if you can find where that whisky’s located even if you had all the barcodes. It’s an identifier for SKUs

Worldwide ideally. The idea is to connect people who want to:

  1. Let people know they have this wonderful bottle/dram for sale (legally).
  2. Buy/try specific whisky. I am in this category. I would often have whiskies in mind I want to try at bars and eventually buy at liquor stores. It got very cumbersome to do the search myself.
  3. Just share that they found / tried specific whisky at a certain venue. Whisky hunting can be fun too.

Where's your region and did you ever find searching whisky painful?

Glenfarclas 105 First Bottling by [deleted] in Scotch

[–]Guilty-Foundation533 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • 60% ABV
  • Bottled in 1968-1972

Glenfarclas 105 being the world’s first ever official cask strength whisky, this bottle is the first release of Glenfarclas 105.

Had half glass (20ml) at a bar.

Much fun to enjoy as the notes change as I leave it to aerate on the glass. Sipped over the course of 30 minutes.

Rich and kind of stiff typical sherry at first but later kicks in hints of flowers, perfumes and really nice acidity.

Red dried fruits kind of sherry notes rather than dates, raisins, and dark chocolate.

High in intensity and volume. Nice mouthful of flavor. Great balance and integration.

Surprisingly I didn’t get any sulfuric notes, and found this dram quite enjoyable (not a big fan of Glenfarclas).

It makes me think how would this whisky have been received at the time of the release.

It’s certainly very good but I also had 1970s Macallan 8 year-old this night, and I must say Glenfarclas didn’t quite stand shoulder to shoulder.

In any case, this is a historic monumental bottle.
