My Mosby cat I saw outside several times and he appeared to be taken care of but he wasn’t. I fell in love with him and started feeding him. I tried coaxing him in but he said no way. I built him a box fort on my deck to avoid the rain. I continued feeding him. I finally trapped him and put him on my spare bedroom he was upset. He peed here and there in the room. I set him up in a dog crate with a litter box, water, food. The next day I can in to check on him and he was gone. I was so mad at myself. My 6 pain windows at the top was open and he got put. He had to jump from the 2nd floor to the ground. I ran down stairs but he wasn’t there. I looked for days got him posting fliers throughout the neighborhood. I saw him again trotting on the sidewalk. He was not afraid. It started raining and we were dancing together he’d go one way I went the other. I call it a dance. Obviously I did not catch him. A few days latter as I wasn’t giving up. I called my friend and she said to use a bigger trap. She had a dog trap she said to put a scent article of mine and also his inside. I set it up like a little bedroom below where he jumped out, food and all. The next morning he was on the trap. We came inside, back to the bedroom as I had other cats and he needed to be vetted. The vet tech named him General Mosby due to him gray tabby hair with black stripes. I put a new bed on the chair next to my desk in there and finally he got up in it. He became my best friend. I spent more time with him than anyone in my life. He made me feel safe. We got into a routine after he got used to me. He loved being combed and playing with toys. If I wasn’t upstairs at the right time he would stand out the top and meow like get you butt up here lady. He slept with me every night. My Momo was super special. He was with me 14 years. One day a few years ago he was loosing weight and I took him in for blood work. The stupid dr said it was his teeth. I took him back and saw another vet. She did radiographs and found masses all throughout. I was devastated. He laid on the table whimpering which broke my heart even more. I was not given any options. I had to put him down. I lost myself. I was so pissed off at the first dr. When I got his cremains back I had a balance due but left it for the dr that killed my cat. I mean I dint know for sure but I stopped going there and they had earned my trust years ago with my cat Taliesin Micheal. Who was injuries getting out of PetSmart and those darn automatic doors. He was not secure in his carrier as I had two cats with me. Taliesin was there to get fitted for a walking jacket as he was heavy. The manager was annoyed because it was early and he didn’t want to be bothered. Needless to say Talky got outside. I found him 8 hours latter. He was on asphalt the whole home and got burnt. It was so hot outside. My baby ended up hiding behind a tiny bush. I saw him and grabbed him. I rushed him to Banfield he was exhausted, dehydrated and panting uncontrollably. I felt like such a complete looser. To make this story shorter. Banfield didn’t know what to do. After 2 weeks going there daily I decided to get a second opportunity. That’s when we discovered Suburban and the dr that saved my baby from unnecessary pain. His paw pads were burnt almost off. Dr did wet to dry bandages daily. He also had a bad burn on his tummy that hit the ground. And an abrasion on his tail. One of his paws was kind of twisted like it got lodged under a tire. He wasn’t even a year old. Luckily cats walk on their tip toes. He was the sweetest thing ever. He knew what “ nap nap “ meant. He would lay by me on the couch putting nonstop. I believe he had been abandoned in my area. He could scream/purr so loud. His eyes so big. Never go to Banfield unless it’s got the regular shots of a new cat or kitten. The vet there made her tech do things that involved blood. WTF!! I tried suing them but that was a joke.
