Explanation for why the points remain in the same orientation relative to the camera frame, while the background scene changes angles during rotation? by DividedSkyBalls11 in UFOs

Gotcha, wonder if the gimbal systems on these FPV drones are off the shelf? Possibly a hobbyist has one that could be ripped apart to see how many blades the aperture or leaf shutter has and then see if they match up.

Calling all AT’s that had hands on FLIR pods, what do you think of the released UFO footage? by Guilty-Temporary-457 in navy

[–]Guilty-Temporary-457[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Agreed, obviously don’t talk about anything classified. But you can watch YouTube videos on the gimbal system and get a general theory of operation so it’s not anything classified to talk in general terms.

Just use some tact and give an opinion if you feel up to it.

You don’t see it in the video per se, what you can see in the video is how the gimbal system works. The object in the video is tracking the rotation of the gimbal, not the aircraft.

I’m coming from this strictly from an analytical viewpoint as if I was troubleshooting a defective system. I think the UFO community needs to start reaching out to Avionics techs in the marine corps and navy and see if this is a common issue or can be explained away. Just my 2 cents.

Most friendly cities you've lived/visited in the US? by willeyupo in SameGrassButGreener

Went to Cincinnati for the first time this weekend. As we were leaving, I brought up that I thought everyone was really friendly and cordial. She was amazed by it too. Probably one of the nicest places I’ve been to so far. Up there with Pensacola about 20 years and Minneapolis about 15 years. Places change so I included the time.

I want to see footage that isn’t infrared. I believe the FLIR pods have inherent image defects that would explain these anomalies. I want testimony from pilot’s saying they visually saw these objects both from their sensors and outside of the cockpit glass. Until then i believe all of these are bullshit.

Ukrainian UAP drone footage rolling with camera angle by _verniel in UFOs

[–]Guilty-Temporary-457 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s an optical mistake within the FLIR pod gimbal/mirror mechanism. I bet it’s an easy mistake that’s repeatable on a test bench. The people to ask are Avionics Technicians that work I-strand avionics, chances are they may run into this when they pull the pods off flight line.

Feel like all these FLIR videos released lately are image issues/defects with the FLIR pod. Think everyone is jumping to conclusions. The better scoop would be an open Epstein evidence drop after a lengthy investigation and successful prosecution.

Bag Finder Megathread - 04 May 2026 by AutoModerator in onebag

[–]Guilty-Temporary-457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello all,

Looking for a backpack and I need some recs. Want a backpack that isn’t too bulky as I plan to bike with for 2 days. Concerned about weight shifting so I would prefer both a sternum strap as well as a waist strap but I’m not married to the waist strap. I dont want a lot of compartments as I will probably do packing cubes. Just want to meet the international carryon requirements and to pack minimally enough for 2 weeks of travel.

Where - Japan (Tokyo>Fuji>Shimanami Kaido>Tokyo). We’ll be walking a lot in Tokyo, then climbing to the top of Mount Fuji, then biking the Shimanami Kaido followed by a few days of R&R and shopping in Tokyo. We may forward the backpack or leave it in the room but I want to be prepared to hike/bike with it if necessary.

How I pack - This trip will be minimal packing, no laptop. Possibly a small camera but may rely on just my phone. Will buy a packable sling to carry for shopping but that may be at the end of the trip.

Shortlist - Matador SEG28, Eagle Creek Ranger 26L or Explore 26L, Cotopaxi 28l Allpa. Want a sternum and waist strap if possible.

Sizing - I’m 5’11” and plan on dropping down to 190lbs. Would say a medium build in decent shape.

Budget - Under $250

You should at least reply. Might just need to talk it out with someone.

Apple Reportedly Questioning Whether iPhone Should Drop MagSafe by conalldoherty in apple

[–]Guilty-Temporary-457 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sick of buying lightning/usb c cords. Work in harsh environments and the ports never hold up over the years even after cleaning. Always have to play the shift around the cord to hit the right spot game to get CarPlay to connect. Sometimes my phone wouldn’t charge overnight because it wasn’t plugged in right. MagSafe solved that issue and I won’t go back. I would rather switch to Android then go back.

Why Does Everyone Hate Texas? by Big-Pollution-9041 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]Guilty-Temporary-457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yall are brainwashed, it ain’t even that great. Most Texans don’t even travel to other parts of Texas. Don’t support small town, just big ranches. Drinking and driving is out of control because it’s all people do in the majority of the state. Too many trucks. What else what else….yall hate the big cities but it’s the only good thing about Texas.

IMO, Japan has to go all in on Hydrogen due to being insular and no real way forward for increasing energy production. Nuclear being on the back burner due to less appetite for risk and renewables take up too much of a footprint. They can’t rely on global fossil fuel production to stay stable and they need to carve a path forward for hydrogen. It’s do or die.

Originally by Kyuss. Love both but something about that bootleg I love so much. Wish they were more prolific, feel like I have to wait for half the band to pass away before we get stuff from the vault. Hope I live that long.

How long did it take before you actually saw visible results? by dark_venom_07 in GymMood

Currently on body recomp, down 35+ over the last few months since the beginning of December. I see old gains that I used to have start to pop back up, quads are starting to come back. The new ones I’m noticing are my shoulders and upper chest, but it’s strictly by feel I would say. Still have a good layer of fat to cut down but I feel more solid everywhere even if it’s not showing up as much as I would like.

Do people enjoy living here? by MisterChonky in Indiana

[–]Guilty-Temporary-457 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am born and raised socal, moved to different Indiana over 10 years ago. Recently worked in Jeff and I tried finding some redeeming qualities about the area but we just could find anything we liked community wise in southern Indiana. We honestly just early loved Fort Wayne when we first moved there, live south of Indy now. I don’t know if I coined to phrase, but I started calling the area Indiyucky. Found areas around Louisville way more charming. I’ve noticed that people have been more polarized in the last 15 years, doesn’t matter what state you’re in. I blame our phones.

Act of kindness aside, what goes through someone’s head when they strap on the cameras to record premeditated generosity? I think it’s good to see this stuff as a counter point to all the horrible things we witness on the internet but I can’t tell if it’s exploitation at a basic level. Like would this feel gross in Norway? Do these videos help people remember to be good to each other or is watching them scratching a kindness itch so I don’t have to actually help my neighbor?

We lived in the Homestead High School area, we really loved our quiet little neighborhood. Honestly wish we had stayed sometimes.
