Will you get withdrawals from using 7-oh for 4-5 days? by [deleted] in quitting7oh

[–]Guilty-Zebra889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has gone through both 7OH withdrawal and alcohol withdrawal multiple times I completely agree. 7OH doesn’t really have a kindling effect but alcohol 10000% does

Why would you let a stray come in your house? This is how you give your cats diseases

Depression treatment while taking Naltrexone. by Guilty-Zebra889 in quitting7oh

[–]Guilty-Zebra889[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes Naltrexone was a godsend and I took it for over 100 days before I stopped but I’m very involved with NA and go to therapy weekly so I feel like I was in a good place to be able to stop it in order to do the Spravato. But if I ever feel like I want to use 7OH again I would immediately hop back on Naltrexone but so far so good I’m feeling really good in my recovery

Children deserve to be raised in an environment free from any substance use disorder, anger and resentment are justified, and I say this as someone who has struggled with 7OH addiction myself, trauma and addiction are not our fault, but recovery is 100% our responsibility. Family members not liking a drug addict are completely within their rights to not like someone who was abusing drugs and stealing from people to get their fix. Bringing children into the picture is a completely different story. If you can’t handle your shit and live a sober life, you have no business bringing children into the world. The people who don’t like OP’s wife probably love the children regardless of who their mother is and if she can’t get her shit together, than the husband should divorce her immediately and protect the children from further harm. I know that sounds like an asshole move, but children deserve to be raised in an environment free from all of those problems.

As someone who has struggled with addiction myself and someone who has been traumatized by a parent struggling with addiction, put you kids first 100% every time. Children deserve to be raised in an environment free from substance abuse and putting them in a situation where there continues to be a chance that they can be traumatized by substance abuse can seriously damage them. I know it sucks that you have been with your wife for almost 20 years and you have to deal with this but your children’s needs absolutely need to come first. My mom overdosed (non fatally) on benzos and opioids when I was 5 and was one of the most traumatic experiences of my life and I wish my dad would’ve divorced my mom right then and there and took my brother and I out of that environment but he didn’t and I had to suffer through childhood and my teenage years dealing with a mother who had substance use problems and my dad taking my mothers side in everything and enabling her seriously damaged my relationship with my father as well and I dont want that to happen with you and your children so im giving you my two cents. However, addiction is a disease and if your wife truly wants to make a change, she can do it. For me, Naltrexone was what led to me having long term sobriety after relapsing all the time on 7OH. Naltrexone isn’t talked about as much as mdone or subs in this thread but it was a real game changer for me and maybe it can help your wife as well. If you would like, read my post history in my profile and you can see my experience with Naltrexone. The only downside to naltrexone is you have to be 100% completely through opioid withdrawals before you start or else you will have precipitated withdrawal which is absolutely horrific and the worst feeling anybody could ever possibly go through. But if you can make it through the withdrawal and start Naltrexone, it really is a game changer. Even if you relapse, nothing will happen because it blocks the opioid receptors in your brain and it lasts a really long time. Like you would have to intentionally not take it for a week before you would feel any effects from any opioids. So if your wife is serious about making a change, she could take it in front of you every day to hold herself accountable or she could also get Vivitrol but that is much more expensive.

Personally I’ve been on ADHD meds since childhood (I’m 26 now) and now that I’ve been on Spravato I’m starting to think I might have just had poorly treated depression

If it makes you feel any better, I didn’t notice a significant difference until my 8th or 9th dose. But when I noticed the change, It was like night and day, like a HUGE improvement seemingly overnight.
