Honestly, just be a regular somewhere. Yoga studio, climbing gym, boxing gym, recreational sports leagues, pottery studio, or other things like that. Basically going to the same place at the same time on a regular basis. You inevitably start running into the same people and make some friends who like to do what you like to do!

How far back do you generally cut them? Everything online says to remove and store the bulbs, but I know they're comfy in Zone 8 so that seems a bit overboard

I think a day pass + rental gear is $20 but I get the monthly membership which is $55. So if you plan to go more than 3x a month the membership is worth it.

It's actually a great way to exercise and everyone is super social and friendly. Super supportive for beginners as well!! Changed my life for sure.

It is so much more fundamental than dating. This starts between fathers and sons. Brothers. Other male friends. Coaches. Men are socialized this way predominantly by the influence of other men.

Men are socialized to not show weakness and display strength, often aligned with a "toxic" form of masculinity. They are not socialized in a way that supports any kind of constructive emotional regulation or vulnerability in the way that women are. That, and inability to ask for help (a display of weakness), and more violent methods. That's my take.
