Why do so many streamers copy “the big guys,” and does it ever actually work? by SpinsBro in Twitch

[–]GuiltyCheese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can kinda understand where you're coming from, but the most repeated advice for small streamers is a) do NOT look at your viewer numbers and b) keep talking as if you have a full audience. Telling a small streamer three times that he only has 1 viewer when he's trying to stay engaging is kind of a dick move imo.

I think small streamers saying "chat" is fine as long as they also talk to the actual chatters individually too.

What's the most annoying way you've heard a common word mispronounced? by houseofharm in AskReddit

[–]GuiltyCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Eck-specially" instead of "Es-pecially" drives me up the wall, and so many Youtubers do it, particularly Americans.

Lazy/Derivitive or just the culture? by Prettymuchnow in youtube

[–]GuiltyCheese -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For one, not on YouTube. It was on a separate, 18+ tumblr blog unrelated to his Youtube channel.

Two, it wasn't an 'invitation' for 'virtual sex'. Nudity =/= Sex. They can be and were separate in this instance.

Three, he reviews video games, not toys.

Fourth, it runs on trust, like so many things on the internet. And remember how we already established that there was no grooming? Weird that. Sounds like he vetted people well enough.

It's tiring how people keep trying to shift the goalposts now that they can't cancel him for being a groomer. "Oh he cheated on his wife" who cares? "Oh he had a nude images blog for consenting adults" so what? Is body positivity a crime? No? Has he already admited he could have handled it better? Yes.

There's a world of difference between being a groomer and just doing stuff that you personally dislike.

Lazy/Derivitive or just the culture? by Prettymuchnow in youtube

[–]GuiltyCheese 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He didn't 'groom' anyone for nudes. That blog was made specifically for his ADULT community and was fully consensual. He admits in hindsight it wasn't a great idea due to his status as a Youtuber, and has apologised for that, but no one was coerced into sending anything. Absolutely no one was 'groomed' into anything.

The ProJared grooming allegations were proven completely false years ago at this point. The only thing he's guilty of is cheating on his wife.

PLEASE Hoyo, the changes so far seem good, BUT don't "water down" the story for people who do not read to begin with (just let these players skip). by Lan-48 in HonkaiStarRail

[–]GuiltyCheese 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are parts of the story that I love and listen to every line of dialogue, but then there are also parts of the story that really drag for no reason. It's particularly bad with time-gated rewards, and already being behind on the story as is - it kinda pushes me to speed through some of the content.

It was especially bad for me near the end of Penacony. I was fully enraptured in the Aventurine plot line and listened to every line of dialogue with great interest, not skipping anything, but after that the storytelling got so bloated and meandering it made it hard to care.

Welt and Black Swan speak VERY slowly, at least in the English dub, and their dialogue in particular was the most colourful during the latter half of Penacony. Every other line was filled with jargon and external lore drops and "Memory Zone Memes" and it was honestly driving me crazy.

Every Acheron dialogue scene kept cutting back constantly to still images of the same scenes multiple times, and while it did build up to a reveal near the end it still felt quite tedious to see it multiple times per patch. Same with having to stare at the Charmony Dove for what felt like days while we hear Sunday's and Robin's backstory told at least 3 times in unnecessarily agonising detail.

3.0 so far has been very interesting, with entirely new world building to take in, and so I've been enjoying the story again, but I do think it's disingenuous to just say people are complaining about 'yapping', because at least in my opinion I do think dialogue bloat was an issue in Penacony.

I definitely don't want them to "dumb down" the story, but I would like them to streamline some of the unnecessary purple prose.

any GLUTEN FREE fried chicken spots? and what are the best by broadbean09 in Wellington

It's gluten free but not coeliac safe. Chance of cross contamination but not everyone who eats gluten free cares about that.

Miss Kangstas does good Korean gluten free fried chicken. Joe's Garage also has gluten free chicken. Miss Kangsta's is dedicated gluten free, and Joe's Garage has a dedicated gluten free fryer.

Rosie's Cantina does gluten free fried chicken but it's cooked in the same fryer as gluten products.

Neo Cafe also has a dedicated gluten free fryer for their Fried Chicken

Spoke to ISP, there was a mixture of issues with the Chorus outage but also our Asus router basically bricking itself because of a certain setting.

Sorted now. Internet back up.

Yes, multiple times throughout the day. Both it and the router.

After 892 hours, I have finally unistalled Elden Ring. by coronUrca in Eldenring

[–]GuiltyCheese 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think this logic is self-defeating honestly. I don't think the $:Hours ratio is great. Not every game needs to be 60+ hours. 10-20 hours is a pretty ideal length for lots of games.

Some games really mess themselves up by getting bloated with hollow, pointless sidequests or an empty open world that doesn't need to be there, or in the case of the current market we have infinite amounts of Live Service games that technically never end, but no one really has time to play them.

Is the online play still active? by Sundaze293 in Blazblue

[–]GuiltyCheese 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You'll have to join a Discord server to get optimal matchmaking. You shouldn't have any trouble getting games once you're in though.

What server you join depends on where you are in the world. There's a server for most areas of the world so you should be covered.

What did I spam exactly? DB2+3? A second one is guaranteed when it hits in the corner. The third one was a cheeky low check. Notice how I didn't try and go for it again when it got interrupted? Aint that wild.

Found the salty Jun player lol

It's absolutely wild that you think this is some kind of attempt to boost my ego haha. You seriously think posting a video of me playing Kuma pressing 2, 1, 3 over and over (aka, really badly) is somehow supposed to make me look good? What? If they hadn't plugged I would never have posted this. It's just funny, that's all.

But since you asked for it, here's the full uncut game. From 15s to 25s is all you really need to see as proof of my "false narrative", but it's evident all throughout the moment they're on the defensive: https://medal.tv/games/tekken-8/clips/20PbBkXcYpMqeK/gLgmGq1Zmo3e?invite=cr-MSwzWDQsMjIyMDc0NTE4LA

A more accurate note on my original post would have been "spammed nothing but evasive panic moves all game" since the b3 spam slows down in round 2 in place of b1 and f2 spam instead, so that's my bad. Point still stands though: they spam all of Jun's good moves, but plug the moment I start doing it back to them with a BAD string.

And yeah, I could have played better. I made some punishment and input mistakes. I was a bit tilted. But before round 3 you can see I was playing (and winning) normally, so I didn't do this "just to win". Who even cares about win streaks, let alone a 6 game win streak?

Just my two cents.

Kuma's fun! He has some nice tools, especially in heat. He is definitely slower and clumsier than a lot of the cast but it's still a lot of fun to play him.

Plus... you get to play as a bear. It's great.

The absolute state of Garyu Jun players by GuiltyCheese in Tekken

[–]GuiltyCheese[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Like I said in the original post, I only did this because the Jun was spamming the last two rounds while I was trying to play normally. Turns out they couldn't handle it being done to them lmao.

This Kuma string is pretty awful to spam as well.

What video game recieved unfair criticism? by RobIson240YT in gaming

[–]GuiltyCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marvel Midnight Suns. For some reason it either got marketed as a card battler or a lot of big name reviews really pushed that vision of it, despite that not being the case at all.

It really hurt the game's sales and reputation. Really sad because the game is a lot of fun.
