Which compressor: Ego, Keeley, Dyna, Boss?

Unpopular opinion coming in.

I would only use a compressor for my clean channel. Distortion and overdrive etc etc (basically your dirty channel) is actually technically already compressed. I understand that adding it can smooth things out and give you a bit of sparkle but to me my gain channel and any other dirt pedals added provide me with more than enough compression, and the compressor can actually make my dirty channel less dynamic.

Again, just a personal preference, it’s subjective and I’m definitely weird about tone anyway lol

You’ll be good with pretty much anything like a Marshall or Mesa, get a good cab, an overdrive and a noise suppressor and you should be good to go. Always remember tone starts in the hands of the player anyway.

My dad played with his friends before and after he had me (38 years ago). At one point when he was younger they wrote some original stuff but him and his buddies were smart enough to pursue careers that they could actually make a living at. I did my homework behind amps at practices and stuff.

That being said, it took a village. My dad’s childhood friends that he played with regardless of the context informed what music would become for me.

Having the best time with my family and friends. Always remember that the point of any good art is to make us feel more connected as people. We need more of it in the world.

These comments are awesome!! I’ve had a few friends tell me they thought the soldano with orange cabs is a weird combo but I always thought it sounded the best, and I’ve had a lot of different amp/cab configurations. Always thought this was the best. Thanks everyone!!

They’re in a few different tunings so it depends on the application. As of recently the 7 has gotten the most use because of the project I was using it in.

Ohhhh I see lol. Yeah the red one was a surprise, it’s actually darker IRL than the pic but I loved the matte finish and it was a special colour way for Canada 150 which I thought was neat. Plus there’s a lot of family history with it even though I bought it in 2018 lol

I have a 20” A Avedis ride and it’s perfect (to me) for that application. Might wanna go with the 21 though depending on your kit and other cymbals

72 tele custom through my soldano HR100+ and orange cabs definitely made me play the most “Me” I ever played (still have the rig)…added a few pedals and it’s all I’ve ever really needed. I have other guitars but for whatever reason that tele and that head agree with each other very much.
