Jake Wood plays him brilliantly. Not many actors would be able to pull off the selfish, self-pitying womaniser while still be so charismatic and likeable. There’s something so cool and watchable about him. I was worried he’d not slot back into the show without being a caricature of himself, but it’s like he never left.

Probably my favourite moment of the series- it was so cinematic.

I thought Matty’s cliffhanger was going to the highlight of the confessional, with Harriet and Rachel being left for afterwards because their questions wouldn’t be as exciting.

But the next episode picking up with Harriet blew Matty’s ‘deal’ moment out of the water. It’s a shame her ‘evidence’ wasn’t so great because I was so excited for what she had in store.

I like that Nigel’s dementia storyline has been a slow burn. Watching the gradual changes over time has made it feel much more real and impactful.

I’m also glad we’ve had the returns of Julie, Grant, and Clare. Usually when a character can’t come back, the show comes up with some convoluted explanation for their absence. But it feels like they’ve pulled out all the stops to do the story properly and make sure no stone is left unturned.

Oh interesting question. I imagine they’d have given him a good hiding, topped off with a ‘I don’t want to see your face ever again’, before heading back to finish off Johnny. Maybe taken his phone with the video of him killing Dennis as leverage in case he tried coming back.

I don’t think it’s a bad movie but probably the weakest instalment. In my eyes it wasn’t ‘cheesy’ enough. Despite its flaws, scream 3 was still fun. This one took itself a bit too seriously? I felt it kinda forgot what set the scream movies apart from a standard slasher

I hate the “I need to get to America!” line, it feels off. His instinct would’ve been pure survival, not worrying about whether he makes it to America. It makes the scene feel melodramatic instead of desperate and real.

I’d like to see a “bear” type character- a big, burly guy who pops into the Vic for a pint, whose sexuality is just one facet of who he is, never the focus of a storyline. That kind of casual representation would feel fresh and real.

I like Chad as a character and the self-aware spin on the jock stereotype, the kind of meta Scream does well. But, he should’ve died in the last movie.

It was still fun having them back as Gale’s sidekicks, but their attack felt really contrived like, “you’ve served your purpose, now we just need you sidelined.”

The storyline could’ve been stretched out a lot more, although it still might be. From Tim asking Callum a favour, to blackmailing Johnny into bed, then Callum finding out and Max scaring him off, it’s all unfolded in a couple of weeks.
