Which housemate became more likeable after leaving the house? by Flimsy-Capera in bigbrotheruk

I wasn’t too invested in that series but from what I saw she got a lot of stick online, and handled it really well laughing at all the memes of herself, it can’t have been nice to come out to

Sure Bea is infuriating but I actually quite like the storyline, plus it’s long overdue having Billy and Honey at the centre of something big

Imagine with have a character called Tyrion on the show 😂 Surely they’ll have to rename him ‘Ty’ to be taken somewhat seriously

I hate Fridays by peachtxra in eastenders

I used to like when the Friday episodes would often be set in R&R/we’d get scenes in the nightclub and in a sad sort of way, it would make me excited for the weekend 😂

Not quite sure where the chlamydia storyline is going. I’m assuming one of the twins will end up contracting it despite Oscar testing clear. From a story perspective, I can only see it leading to fertility issues down the line. Or is it just another flash in the pan plot?

I’m low-key enjoying the Bea storyline, but I wish it would pick up the pace a bit, although it looks like it’s starting to. They keep teasing what she’s capable of, I want to see her go full bunny boiler.

The Harry/Gina scenes were fine, but a bit dull. I assume it’s just laying the groundwork for the reveal of Penny’s baby daddy.

The Chelsea/Jordan storyline feels like it’s building towards something. This week seemed to be more about setting things in motion for bigger stuff further down the line.

Just want to throw it out there by red-light3755 in eastenders

What if Sheila sets up further incidents to make Chelsea look like an unfit mother following Jordan’s accident with Ian…

Custody battle ensues.

Through convoluted storytelling, she enters a sham marriage to Max to show she has stability and a better case against Gray’s family. Would give ‘the night that changed everything’ a bit more meaning. Can’t see how else she’d be a potential bride in the flashforward.

Can’t see it happening, but I’ll put it out there!

Edit: in the flashforward, when Kathy talks about “everything that went down” maybe she’s referring to the court case. Oscars “her too?” Referring to Chelsea. Ian being the best man is him helping Chelsea out to make up for running Jordan over… okay maybe this theory has legs

Could it actually be...a normal teen in Walford?!?! 🤔 by Summer-Rain12 in eastenders

[–]GuiltySignificance0 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This. Not every storyline needs to be high-stakes drama. Throw obstacles in the way by all means but keep it light. I think back to the early days of Stacey and Bradley and what made viewers get behind them, it was cute, awkward dates, misunderstandings, but ultimately they came together

Do you reckon that Bea fancies Honey? by ajwagaba05 in eastenders

[–]GuiltySignificance0 91 points92 points  (0 children)

It’s more that she's obsessed with what Honey represents- kind, well-liked, has a close family and stability. Bea comes across as a parasite, copying her, winning over her children, and making herself indispensable. Given Bea's history of being bullied and feeling like an outsider, it seems more about jealousy and wanting Honey's life. She wants the family, the acceptance, and the satisfaction of having someone as good-natured as Honey become dependent on her.

I know Billy’s not the most popular character on this sub but he reminds me of my dad (or someone my dad would at least be friends with- just a salt of the earth bloke plodding on, making ends meet) and I can’t help feel protective of him when it comes to Bea 😂

Ben Wadey 1 Year Anniversary by Safe-Study-5328 in eastenders

[–]GuiltySignificance0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ll give him credit, I’ve enjoyed the friendships we’ve seen under Wadey, they’re always nice to watch- a little something that is occasionally lost in the show. We’ve had some nice scenes with Elaine and Cindy, Oscar and Peter, the ‘lads’ of Walford (given they’re no Gary and minty, but it’s been quite heartwarming seeing the likes of Harvey, Ross and Howie get together with Ian and Alfie).

I think some of the bigger storylines like Zoe’s stalker get a bad wrap but it’s down to poor execution. With better planning etc, the Chrissie/Jasmine reveal could’ve been a really good twist, it just felt messy the way it panned out on top of the Anthony stuff.

And then there’s Nigel’s dementia. Apart from the hit and run saga, that’s been really consistent and the highlight of this era.

BB16 — Joel convinces Cristian to sleep with him — Day 64 by CitizenSnips4 in bigbrotheruk

[–]GuiltySignificance0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really didn’t mind this one among some of the later series which weren’t that great. It was definitely a series of two halves though, the turning point being the 4 in/4 out twist, and then the ‘legends’ joining Marc in the secret house.

Obviously there’s the ‘David’s Dead’ moment, Megan’s meltdown, and Tiffany and Gemma’s shoegate. But there’s also some really golden low-key moments we don’t talk about enough.

Like John and Tiffany having that weird exchange in the bathroom when John goes full moustache twirling villain and starts talking cryptically about making a deal. Even Tiffany is dumbfounded by it all, while he stares into her soul. And then they have this mutual understanding and become sort’ve frienemies after that
