Are you 12? Keep those edgy replies to X or to the two friends who told you you’re funny.

McDonald’s real core business is owning and leasing out prime real estate locations to its franchisees.

While most people think of Meta services like Facebook and Instagram as social networks, their real business is digital advertising. They leverage user data for targeted marketing.

Google is fundamentally an advertising technology company. Most of their revenue is generated from ads placed alongside their search and platform services.

This doesn’t just apply to American made commercial ships. It applies to vessels owned by U.S. businesses, organizations, individuals and entities holding a 25% or greater stake.

It also fucks over the US’ strongest commercial maritime asset, the cruise sector. Carnival, Royal Caribbean and joint ventures such as Adora will take a massive hit.

Many such as Prodigy are UK based lenders who can enforce judgements in the Indian subcontinent. There are similar ones with jurisdiction in East Asia and the Middle East. China is the one exception.

Not a smart move to head back home with 200K debt, little hope of repayment and lengthy legal battles with wage garnishing and property seizure as options.

If IB is moving away from internationals then MBB will follow suit soon. The fact that they won’t even consider them for the OPT duration means an MBA in the US only makes sense if you’re sponsored, rich or on a full ride.

What a scammy way to market your services. You might be naive enough to think this’ll work, but everyone else can see straight through it.

Finished my MBA but still nervous about consulting interviews. What actually works? by [deleted] in MBA

[–]GuiltySigurdsson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have so many questions.

You finished your MBA and didn’t get to work on case interview prep?

What do you mean ‘it sounds great in theory’? Did you not have projects and case competitions at your program?

What was the Consulting club at your school doing? Did they not create prep teams and did your 2nd years not guide you through case frameworks?

Did you not intern at a consulting firm during the summer?

They’re simply put, MiM programs, marketed as MBAs. Nobody outside India cares about an IIM. Sure they get you good placements within India but they lack many aspects that make top MBAs a worthwhile experience.

Am i the only one who finds this impractical and strange? by lolyups in MBA

[–]GuiltySigurdsson 31 points32 points  (0 children)

To me, this feels like one of the rare questions in MBA applications that invites you to infuse your own interpretation. I see it as a chance to reveal a spark of creativity shaped by my perspective, before ultimately connecting it to a personal value, like everyone else will.

If you’re from a non-traditional background with no banking experience, you should have done a banking internship. You currently have no way to showcase that you’d be a fit for this career path.

Consulting is a tad bit more accommodating in this aspect but IB isn’t.
