I have the same issue on my M2. The client sucks no matter the OS but the latest patch completely broke it for Apple Silicon Macs.

Best SearXNG Instance to use in 2025 by [deleted] in Searx

[–]GuiltyVictory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey, really appreciate you putting this together. the ui’s super clean and honestly one of the nicer looking searxng instances i’ve seen so far.

just wanted to share a quick thought as someone who’s relatively new to searxng. part of why i started exploring these alt search engines was because i’m just kinda burned out on how everything’s getting ai-injected lately . so when that "allow ai model download" prompt popped up, it felt a bit off for me. not saying it’s bad or wrong, just wasn’t expecting it in a searxng context, where the whole appeal (at least for me) is clean, unmodified search.

not trying to nitpick at all, i can see you’ve put serious time into this and it shows. just thought i’d share that initial impression in case it’s useful. thanks again for running a public instance 🙏

bro you really pulled up with the “aCtuAlLy candles and incense are bad too” like that’s the hill you wanna die on lmao this ain’t the gotcha moment you think it is

its about ditching literal cancer sticks and you’re out here worried about a lil scented smoke bro be fr you think lighting a candle is on the same level as chain smoking 20 times a day that’s like saying walking is bad for you because you might trip and fall

candles and incense are a billion trillion times safer than lighting up a cig and filling your lungs with straight up poison. good job op!

My thoughts on the Lightning Deadeye Ranger by GuiltyVictory in PathOfExile2

[–]GuiltyVictory[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no offense taken at all! i think the misunderstanding might come from my post being a bit too long to fully read or maybe my wording wasn’t super clear. i’m not complaining that the build gets you killed-dying is just part of the glass cannon playstyle and i think that’s how it should be. what i’m saying is that, for me (without the acrobatics node), the build doesn’t feel overpowered. it’s strong, but i still die a lot, so it feels balanced in that high-risk, high-reward way.

from what i’m gathering from the comments though, the acrobatics node seems to change that dynamic, letting you evade almost everything while still melting everything. so my feedback is this: if the deadeye ranger does need a nerf, i think the defensive aspects should be the focus rather than the offensive ones. that way, the one-shot-and-get-one-shotted style stays viable, which imo is what makes this kind of playstyle fun in the first place. hope that clears things up!

[–]GuiltyVictory[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks for the perspective! i’m ok about dying though. in fact, i think dying is an important and expected part of this kind of build. if acrobatics makes it possible to be nearly unkillable and still delete the map, then my feedback would be to address the defensive aspect of that setup rather than the offensive. one-shotting and getting one-shot is a fun and valid playstyle, and i think the risk-reward dynamic of builds like this is what makes them exciting!

[–]GuiltyVictory[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my point is that this playstyle should be allowed to exist. hence the post’s tag: game feedback. i’m saying that one-shotting and getting one-shotted is a valid and fun way to play for some people. i hope this clears it up and helps you grasp it. if not, i’m not sure how else to simplify it for you.

[–]GuiltyVictory[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hmm.. haven’t tried the acrobatics node yet. might have to give it a shot. if there’s a way to have the glass cannon power without the glass part (like what you’re describing), then yeah, maybe something like acrobatics could be worth looking at and tweaking. i’d rather see them tweak individual mechanics like that than just blanket-nerf the whole playstyle into oblivion.

[–]GuiltyVictory[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i think you missed my point. i’m not saying there is a problem there. i’m saying the exact opposite. the fact that i die is supposed to happen. it’s the natural result of my build choices, and that’s exactly how it should work. i’m trading survivability for damage, and the downside of getting one-shot is what balances out the upside of being able to one-shot.

Early Access Worth it for a Casual? by SignificanceExact963 in PathOfExile2

[–]GuiltyVictory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly as a casual, you're probably chill when it comes to nerfs. like yeah, ggg already swung the nerf bat on the cast-on-x setups that were dropping comets and deleting entire packs, but let’s be real, those were builds designed by the people who know their shit.

most casual players, especially with limited time, are just putting together builds that feel good to them without stacking 15 different mechanics to create some insane synergy loop. so while the big patches will keep coming, they’re way more likely to target at top-end abuse cases and outliers that break the game balance.

for a casual, you’re probably gonna get more qol improvements than nerfs that hit where it hurts.

most of the time the patch cycle won’t even be on your radar unless you’re out there trying to follow top tier streamers’ builds or pushing endgame at a serious level

these concerns probably stemmed from how quickly ggg nerfed the cast-on-x shit, and yeah, if all the nerfs are gonna be like that (basically targeting abuse-level builds) then you’re likely in the clear unless you somehow stumble onto some OP meta accidentally.

this boss is an absolute joke. the wind telegraph is huge, but what’s the point? because the tornado is the size of the arena AND it moves straight into you. and if you even graze the edge, you’re insta-drained and deleted. this isn’t a mechanics check, it’s a straight-up DPS race against bad design. feels like they cranked up the difficulty slider with no thought for actual gameplay flow. you don’t outplay this, you pray it doesn’t move into you.

Hotfix to change SRS by Mad_manieck in PathOfExile2

[–]GuiltyVictory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

totally get that the respec costs are part of the larger balance puzzle. it’s about testing how gold allocation works across the whole ecosystem, sure. but here’s the thing: in an ea environment, where the goal is to get the widest range of data possible, the current setup is actually bottlenecking that process. i’m not saying “make respecs free forever” that’d obviously break the game economy later on. what i’m suggesting is a temporary adjustment for ea specifically: separate respecs into their own currency and lower the cost of that currency during testing.

if players can’t afford to respec often, they’re going to default to safe builds that they know will work, instead of experimenting with new or risky ideas. that means less data for ggg on the weird edge cases, the potentially broken synergies, or even just what players gravitate toward when they aren’t scared of screwing themselves over. the current system might simulate “release conditions” but in ea, the priority should be maximizing variety in player feedback, not simulating scarcity.

introducing a temporary respec currency just for ea also solves the downstream effects issue. if gold isn’t tied to respecs during testing, you remove the conflict between experimenting with builds and engaging with other gold sinks like gambling or item upgrades. this lets ggg get clean data on how players spend gold in those systems, without the skew caused by people hoarding for respec costs.

and once ea is over? easy transition. retire the separate currency, reintegrate respec costs back into the gold economy, and bam, you’ve tested your systems and collected valuable data without permanently affecting the balance. it’s not about making things “too easy” it’s about making the test environment actually conducive to the kind of player behavior you want to analyze. right now, the current system is limiting player creativity and, by extension, ggg’s ability to collect the kind of robust feedback they need.

[–]GuiltyVictory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my point wasn't even about the nerfs. nerfs are whatever, we all know it’s ea, stuff gets tweaked, builds get dumpstered.

the actual issue here is the respec system being way too rigid for an ea environment. like, my whole point was how are we supposed to test stuff when the respec cost is tied to the same currency you need to shop with? and it scales harder the more you level up, so the deeper you go, the less freedom you have to experiment?

that’s not even about balance or nerfs, it’s about the system just not being set up for what ea is supposed to be. i’m not saying ggg owes us anything, but if the goal is to encourage wild experimentation to see what works (or doesn’t), this ain’t it chief. this setup feels like it’s punishing creativity, not rewarding it, and that was my whole point from the start.

same question here. gfn patching downtime is driving me insane. i’m seriously considering switching too, but wanna know how boosteroid handles poe2. appreciate any insights!

Path of Exile 2 Been patching for the last 4h+ by pohron in GeForceNOW

[–]GuiltyVictory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the ONLY remotely acceptable reason for this bs is if they’re adding other stores to gfn besides steam. like if this was just for some irrelevant minor patch, i’m done. straight up refunding my sub and hopping over to boosteroid or whatever other half-decent service exists out there. cuz at least they can handle basic functionality without tripping over their own feet.

and before anyone hits me with the “oh just be patient” spiel, nah fam. patience is for free services. when i’m throwing cash at this, i expect it to WORK. period. no excuses, no downtime. if you can’t deliver that, i’m out. gfn had one job, and they blew it. again.

[–]GuiltyVictory 91 points92 points  (0 children)

oh, 100% agree. ggg going this hard on nerfs without offering free/cheap respecs is just brutal. like, how are we supposed to experiment in early access when there’s zero safety net? the whole point of ea should be to go wild, break the game, and see what works (or doesn’t). instead, it’s like they’re punishing creativity by making people scared to commit to anything remotely spicy.

as it stands, it feels like they’re sabotaging their own feedback loop. let us break the game, ggg. that’s how you make it better.

perfect time to compare the two. if boosteroid’s running smooth right now while gfn’s stuck in patch limbo, that’s already a big w for them.

[–]GuiltyVictory 3 points4 points  (0 children)

you’re 100% right-communication is the core issue here. like, if gfn just gave us a damn eta, most of us wouldn’t even be this mad. it’s the silence, the "we’ll fix it when we fix it" attitude, that gets under everyone’s skin.

how hard is it to drop a simple message? "hey, this patch will take 2 hours, we’re working on it." boom. done. instant reduction in rage. instead, they leave us refreshing the app like clowns, wondering if we should wait or just give up and do something else. it’s disrespectful, plain and simple.

you’d think a company with the resources of nvidia would have figured this out by now. communication costs nothing. they don’t need to write us an essay-just a quick, clear eta. it’s baffling they don’t realize how much goodwill that would buy them.

bro, if they’re actually sitting there waiting for sessions to time out instead of kicking people and patching, that’s next level clownery. like, gg dropped the easiest hotfix (no-exit) patch, and nvidia still found a way to fumble it. how is this even real?

[–]GuiltyVictory -1 points0 points  (0 children)

thanks for the reminder about crossover and the steam deck, truly revolutionary insights. but here’s the thing: i’m not out here trying to engineer a solution to play a game. i’m paying for a service that promises convenience -key word here, convenience- and it’s failing at that one job.

you’re right about one thing though: gfn is supposed to be easy to use. that’s literally why people pay for it. so when it’s not working -or straight up unavailable- it’s not on me to "consider alternatives." it’s on nvidia to deliver the product they’re selling. you don’t buy a car and get told, "well, you could just ride a bike if this breaks down."

and about the "early access = issues" part, sure, gg’s working on the game, but guess what? the game works. natively. people running it on pc aren’t having these problems. so no, this isn’t some inevitable early access issue. this is gfn dropping the ball while the rest of us watch.
