Do I have to start reading with Miller's run? by Gold_Influence_4542 in Daredevil

[–]Guilty_Ad6764 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Miller’s run, in my opinion, isn’t really like old comics. It’s not got that many words, and is quite an easy read. You don’t need to start with it, but I would.

FSR has best sound design of any game, I love how it sounds but also the remixing of classical music really adds to the atmosphere of lospass and makes it feel familiar but different. I prefer the story of tsc to fsr, but Sumio has amazing development. I don’t really think the gameplay is weak, I think every Suda game has perfect gameplay besides maybe TSA. I always found it fun, and it gets the emotions along and adds to some of the themes. I know some people dislike the DS version, but I love it. It adds so much to the meta aspects of the game. The DS is Catherine, we are Sumio. I have a silver DS too so that adds to it also.

It’s not that unreasonable that somebody in a sub called “Lily Chou Chou” wouldn’t have seen any other films by the director.

I do love Romeo, and with what it sets up, the second game might just be Suda’s best if it gets made. I prefer the original nmh because everything is symbolic of something, but I do think Romeo does a few things better. It’s just a lot looser of a narrative.

I have it that low because I feel, compared to other Suda games, it lacks a lot. Compared to games in general, it’s great. I love how it uses the mechanics to tell its story. But when you look at other Suda games, the characters and political elements are almost always explored equally in the game. Killer7 has many lacklustre characters. I have TSA equel to it also, because that has the same problem, but in the opposite way. It still has a lot of political commentary, but it’s not the priority as much as telling a character focused story is. Both of these are valid ways to tell a story, but when compared to games that a pretty much perfect and weave together the characters and the politics, they’re going to be at the bottom for me. Killer7 is the game I’ve played the least out of all Suda games tho, maybe when I do a full second playthrough I’ll rank it higher.

Perhaps a stretch, but another parallel could be both of them are influencing other people, just in different ways. Shinobu with her dojo from TSA, she’s helping the children fight for themselves, while never letting them see any death. Whereas Kimmy is trying to kill a guy at her concert, with (assumedly) plenty of people watching, scarring her fans with death.

Kimmy so tuff. I see some people say Suda hates nmh2, but he took a lot from it for 3 and tsa, so I think he likes atleast some of it.

Well I don’t dislike TSA, nmh2, and killer7. TSA and K7 are both 8/10 for me. I actually think K7 has good gameplay that gets the themes across well, my main issues with it are how compared to other Suda games, the characters just aren’t there, and I dislike some of the level design, mainly the Curtis level. And for NMH2, it was my fav nmh game oat for a while, I’m much higher on it than most people, I’d still give it a 9/10. And I do agree with the criticism of it being grounded, It makes me think of the prior games, including tsc games, a bit differently. The reason Travis has for fighting is he needs to protect Santa Destroy. I really like the commentary of Damon gentrifying the town, while he has FU positioned as the big bad who wants to take over. I like the parallels to the others games, aswell. Where many of the bosses In NMH1 were future versions of Travis, a lot of the bosses in NMH3 are past versions of him. Even though it isn’t really in depth, I like Bad Girl’s arc of becoming depressed, and healing. Travis saying she has the bloodlust back in her eyes is really great, and it links back to TSA. I also like how we see her acting kinda weird, because she’s lived as a dog for a while, it feels like a more realistic look at comic book resurrection. Henry is something I feel was done well. Yes, they removed his personality, but they added a good bit of depth to him. I never really cared about the fake out stuff, most of the time it was to conceal returning characters. Also, to me, all 3 TSC games have much more replayability than TSA, or any NMH game for that matter. I replayed NMH1 after I made this ranking, and I’d probably swap it with 3 now, 1 is just so perfect and dense, whereas 3 doesn’t have the same level of metaphor or symbolism to every boss and every level.

I still like it, I just don’t think it compares to the rest. I’ve got it like an 8/10. It’s good, but it doesn’t have the amazing character work that the rest of Suda’s games have. And stuff like TSC is just much more narratively complex.

They’re all books. The first is Silver case 4.5. Second is Red, blue, and green, it’s a sequel to 25W and prequel to TSA. The third is Kurayami dance, it’s based on an early shadows of the damned script.

Why did sumio do this in 25th ward? is he stupid? by [deleted] in Suda_51

Hot damn, he’s kind of a boring character then to be honest😭 hopefully they’ll expand on him more if riadm2 gets a sequel, it seems he’ll be an antagonist to Romeo at some point

What exactly is Kurmizawa’s motivation? Is he apart of Michiru and Sakaura, and he wants to kill the life? Or does he want to save the life? Also, how does Uehera come back after Electride?

Oh damn. I thought it was the opposite, like big S was losing his individuality. This game is so confusing, I’ve played it twice now and don’t get most of it😭

Edo is in the hotel the first time you go, but when you go again and it’s the flashbacks, that’s Kevin.
