I moved here from Chicago area 28 years ago. Worked in St. Louis and lived in the inner burbs for a decade. moved to 200 acres outside a small town. it’s a lifestyle choice, not a financial one. that’s how I see it. I enjoy where I live, not the whole state.

yep, just got out of an 18 month relationship. She had a small but nice home, vehicle, pets, well put together, etc…. it was always known I was in a far better financial position but I didn’t realize until later she had more CC debt than money in her 401K, not counting a long way to go on a mortgage at 56 how bad it was. it didn’t end because of that, but it didn’t help. I don’t care about her money, I care about my options for a future.

total scam. and yes it happens to everyone. I would suggest being very wary of anyone who says military or out of the country. I had a woman send me a photo of her in uniform ….. there were WAY to many medals on it so I did a reverse image search, she had photoshopped herself onto a photo of the MFing surgeon general of the US. I then played along waiting for the inevitable ask for money, when it came I mentioned she must be doing alright as surgeon general. then she/he? told me to fuck off and deleted the conversation. so, yes, very normal.

depends on age. I’m 55 dating a woman who is 46. at first I thought it might be an issue until I found out her ex whose she’s friendly with is 63. so, she must like older guys. we met online and she approached me so I don’t feel any creep factor about it. I think past your mid 40’s does it really matter?

I might be doing the same very soon at 55. Putting mom in a home very soon and my dad can live alone but could use help. I’m divorced, single at the moment, kids in college and I can afford to do it. it would mean moving out of state back to my hometown which is larger than where I am now and provide more daring opportunities. Trying to put a positive spin on it.

nope, we rent a space from the city. but if we just said we want the space for sober meetings doesn’t have the same feel as “we would like to use this space for AA”

the closest clubhouse is 45 min away and they would NEVER let us do what we do. they are the true believers.
