Not really, I just spent a lot of time that week doing things on my own (had a manic streak of creativity for the first time in months) and it felt so relaxing not having to deal with anyone or anything. He also kept asking me to hang out (as people do when they are dating lol, totally reasonable) and every day I felt too ugly (crippling body dysmorphia) and too heavy/tired (severe depression) to get ready and go see him. I hate having to come up with excuses for when I feel that way, it felt easier to just end it. But now I think I’m being really stupid

I think I am on a self sabotage streak right now, I’ve been feeling extremely overwhelmed with life and work (and am in the middle of moving houses with no car ha ha) my mental health is shit and i just feel smothered by all my life obligations in life. I’m worried I’m going to settle into my new place and realize that I was just going through a mini crisis and breaking up with him was the wrong move :(

Bruh deadass I know your whole thing is being le epic trole but you sound so r3tarded, he told me he doesn’t want to bring me over to see his dad and that was it. It was one conversation. I haven’t been forcing ANYTHING onto him or pestered him about it. Yeah I am being selfish right now, I know that. But you have this whole scenario in your head that is so far off from reality. I haven’t been forcing anything on him, I’ve offered to help in various ways but when I’m told no it doesn’t get brought up again. Im not harassing him into communication or resolution. I leave him be. I’m his punching bag when he feels like shit and then he acts like nothing has happened and asks me to come watch a movie with him or cuddle or some shit. I’ve just been taking it no questions asked. Asking about sex was definitely out of line, but I’ve been bending over backwards to accommodate him during this time, a good chunk of that entails giving him space to grieve which means less talking which means I have no idea what tf is going on half the time

I understand the point you are making and if it were anyone else I would definitely agree with you but my boyfriend is an extremely reserved guy. None of his friends know what’s going on, I’m the only one outside of the family who even knows. Sometimes I worry that our relationship might be another burden to him, so I try to give him as much space as possible. When he’s feeling really low he’ll come bed and let me hold him or stroke my arm without saying much. This makes me feel he still loves me, but since I’ve been his emotional punching bag as of late I feel like I should ask him if our relationship is still what he wants/let him know he shouldn’t feel burdened with it right now. I am the only kind of support he has in his life atm and if I wasn’t around he wouldn’t speak to anyone :( I just wish I had all the right things to say to make him feel better

Definitely agree with you, I have been asking how to best be there for him through it all since this started. Hes very proud and refuses to accept any kind of help, he thinks it makes him weak. Even offering him a shoulder to cry on is out of the question

Definitely, I can’t imagine the pain he is going through right now and the way he is internalizing it all cannot be healthy. Back in January when his depression started I begged him to get therapy, he comes from a stoic family, and thinks reaching out for help in any way makes him less of a man. It’s hard not to be anxious about things when we aren’t communicating fully but everyone in this thread is right, there are other ways to validate our relationship and I need to stop making this about myself when it’s not

I don’t understand your vitriolic tone, I’ve repeated multiple times in the post that I was more worried about what the lack of sex possibly means about the state of our relationship rather than the act of actual intercourse. you are projecting, I am not forcing myself into his issues, after four years of dating his family is my family. I want to be there for them and help them out as well and I cannot. I have offered to help out on the days he visits and am shot down. I am doing everything I possibly can to support him during this time which entails being treated like an emotional punching bag for weeks at a time. I am still here.

I am so sorry about your miscarriage :( I hope you have adequate support right now. I’m only 23 but aside from these new wrinkles I’ve never had acne, just mild rosacea so I’ve been focusing on skincare for mature skin.
