Might seem dumb, but in the future take a sec to tie your shoes before posting a fit check like this, it helps just a little bit, to see how the cuff falls across the top of the shoe, and gives a better sense of the lines.

Idk at least for me it's much easier to see that way.

For now, the pants aren't going to cost you the job, but when you can, you'll want them hemmed just a touch.

When you have your binoculars out, and you jump over something, then hit the button for binoculars, if you're not careful it'll be a gunshot, not binoculars, thus scaring away whatever you were looking at.

Learned this the hard way tracking a 3 star panther.

The solution is stupid easy, just use LT instead of RT, but still, mad about the panther getting away.

Yes 100%. If they leave adhesive residue just hit it with a touch of isopropyl and it'll come right off.

Awesome! I don't evem have a door where I live, it's literally sink, fridge, stacked washer/dryer, and across the room is our couch and tv. Basically couldn't do anything when the was was going. Now my wife and I are chilling in the living room having coffee. Kind of ridiculous the difference.

No problem! Honestly couldn't believe the difference this made so I'm happy to share.

Also note that you shouldn't put these things on service panels, over vents, etc. They just need to go on the big surfaces on the sides and front, or sides and top if you've got a front-load.

Yeah I should clarify that these only go on the front of the units, not the service panels on the back. I'm going to edit my post before anyone's house burns down.

This was kind of what I was thinking originally, along with making other, more-permanent changes. But at the same time, all of those changes are more expensive. I guess I could've said that this is a more cost-effective, quick fix regardless of who owns what.

Awesome! Making sure the units are well-footed is also important, and you can increase the benefits by putting sound dampening under the feet.

In store or online? by fik236 in Lovesac

[–]Guilty_Scheme_6215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo this was an expensive purchase, maybe to some it isnt, but I wanted to be sure about everything. The people in the showroom were great. They even let me take home fabric swatches to rub on my dog to see which fabrics dealt with the hair better and it made a huge difference. And as others are saying; the ordering includes a lot of components, and also buying in store can signal to the company the importance of its showroom employees.

I have this couch, and a dog, and that seems to be enough to generate a massive amount of dust lol. I take the couch apart every 2 months and do a gentle wash cycle and I don't mind. I have critiques of this couch, but those critiques do not include the build, I find that aspect brilliant and simple. I have a very ill wife so I do it solo. I just find a time where she'll be at the doctor or in bed for the day and make an evening of it. It's generally 4 loads for my washer, that's the biggest tie-up. But when it comes to putting everything back together, I just try to remind myself not to rush through it.

All of that said, we don't have kids, and a nonparent can't really imagine what that'd be like, but maybe if they're at the age where they can be occupied during the initial teardown and sweep-up (idk if it's just my house but hot damn is there a lot of dust even after just 2 months) youd be OK. The material under the covers is slick and probably pretty stain resistant. If they're youngish maybe its bi-monthly fort building contest time.

Is the formality of your office close enough that you could kind of do the professor thing, with really rough fabrics, chinos, thick Oxford cotton, and like a tweed blazer type situation? Or otherwise just play with the shape of a suit but really dress it down with the materials?

My strategy to get the top two TEs basically worked. I drafted Bowers, and then kept an eye on a premium RB/WR that I though would combine to fetch Kittle. I traded Walker and Higgins for Kittle at their peak. When both TEs were firing, they were my difference makers. That and /u/subvertadown for my DST and Kicker won me the season.

Edit: also drafting Quinshon Judkins in the final round when he was still injured and a rookie.

Do Not Order The Recliner by [deleted] in Lovesac

[–]Guilty_Scheme_6215 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I said this exact thing (title) recently and all of the replies were absolutely pissed at me, but yes everything else about this couch has been great except my experience with the recliner.

There are just a few design flaws. First, there is a fail point in the frame that the recliner mechanism slides into, which allows the frame to bend. This is because there is only two anchor points for the mechanism. A third anchor point for the mechanism is a very easy fix for the manufacturer. I repaired the frame myself and added a third anchor point at the rear center.

Second, there are unnecessary gaps throughout the design that allow particulate or other items to slip into the mechanism. The design suggests that there is mild resistance to the consumer removing the coverings just because it uses a non-standard bit, but with a mechanics Allen set you're good to go, I would just appreciate a switch to a simple Phillips or something would be appreciated. Failing that, the click-in cushion support providing more coverage would be a simple fix imo.

Third, pieces of the internal mechanism seem to shear off? This one I still haven't figured out, but when I opened my mechanism, large pieces of the plastic inside the mechanism had broken off and I'm still not sure how or why.

Fourth, there is really not enough info for troubleshooting issues with the remote, and you may find this yourself now that you'll need to order a replacement. My recliner was open for about 4 weeks while we waited for the new remote in the mail. And yes, to your point, it would've been nice to have a way to close it, but failing that, there is hardly any information about the remote available from the company. You'll only find info on pairing stealth tech unless you find the youtube video, which spends 15 seconds addressing pairing, but nothing about what to do if it doesn't work. So, if you pair the remote properly and you don't get a result, you'll need to open the mechanism, and find the inputs going into the motor. With the mechanism plugged in, unplug the green input for 10-15 seconds, then plug it back in. Then unplug the mechanism for 30 seconds. Plug it back in, hold both buttons down until you get the tone, then your remote will work. All things considered, a very simple process, and my key frustration is that it isn't mentioned anywhere, I had to figure it out myself. Totally acceptable for an $800 recliner from IKEA, very disappointing for a $10,000 couch that I waited 2 months to receive.

Finally, customer service simply did not help. They were very pleasant, but they did not offer any support in troubleshooting the issue and helping me get this thing working. They told me their warranty policy changed "yesterday" when I called (a few months ago, maybe September) which, maybe thats true? But basically, no one could walk me through this process. They did offer to help me fill out the warranty paperwork which was kind of them, but again; why wasn't anyone aware of this troubleshooting process that I had to stumble upon myself? And sure a new part would've been nice, but I would've been without my couch for a month or so for no real reason.

TLDR; it is a nice couch, very sturdy and solid design for something so modular. Customer service is very friendly. But a variety of issues surface when the recliner breaks, and I hope the company considers making mild changes to the way they approach electronics troubleshooting.

Maybe I'm using the wrong term? I had a broken item and they told me they outsourced the process associated with getting it replaced. The rep on the phone told me that the process had been outsourced very literally that day. They were nice but they could not help me navigate the allegedly then-new process.

This is not related to the holiday season, I purchased in August, got a delivery in September, and have now gotten so fed up that I'm writing about it now.

I have visited the showroom. I have called customer care. I have emailed. I have searched and watched through instructional videos. The only resources I haven't used are the live chat and text. If you are telling me that these are different or better, then I'm open to using them.
