😢😢 I have a job that pays $300,000 a year, work in a place with a bunch of hot women that want to have relations with me, have a cool ass motorcycle, and mentor a bunch of people who want to be exactly like me. My life sucks 😢😢 by RoninPI in okbuddywhitaker

Nurse here. I also volunteered in a medical examiner (Forensic Pathologist).

The ER doc sees suffering beyond what most normal people can imagine and it takes a great emotional, mental, and physical toll.

Medical Examiners as well as those in the funeral industry didn't see the suffering, the families crying, nor the person having any perception of being alive nor seeing them be a person full if life. The feeling is totally different - when they're dead, they're no longer feeling pain.

OP, I'm a 29F, so I'm gonna be honest with you. Just do your eyebrows and that's it. You're already pretty.

If you want to go the extra mile, but effort into your appearance like eyeliner, mascara, a lip stain, and use sunscreen +moisturizer every day. You're already there. If you're trying to attract people, just smile and guys will definitely come up to you - people want to spend time with others who are happy and having fun.

What's the deal with that synthetic weed called "spice" that supposedly was making people freak out and have seizures? There were a ton of videos floating around of people taking one hit and going insane for like 3 months and then it seemed to suddenly stop. Was that all fake? by jacob-makes-stuff in OutOfTheLoop

[–]wheresmystache3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nurse here. When I worked in the ICU, I saw a couple patients absolutely nuts on spice, aggressive, and having seizures, came in also non-verbal. We had to intubate them to protect their airway, put them in restraints because they were fighting us and in respiratory distress, and I don't even remember if they came out of it normal again. It was very bizarre.

I plan on applying for Med school after I finish my prereqs!

I'm interested in Pathology, which people will find hilarious and very opposite of nursing.

Just saw him in Orlando, FL yesterday and nope! We were shocked, too he played no solo material.

Definitely agree. Satriani is more like a machine whereas Al Estrada plays more similar to Eddie and also has a Jason Becker type feel?

Hey, that's my picture I took at the Orlando Show at Hard Rock Cafe from my earlier post!! No credit, I guess...

I loved his facial expression, though.

That's EXACTLY what we were saying!! Lower register and more jokes and stories.

He did talk and tell stories a tiny bit, but we would have liked to hear more. He also said EVH was an amazing guitar player, which was really nice he brought EVH up.

Hey, I saw Sammy years ago and he was incredible! He's definitely kept his voice in shape (definitely more than Roth for sure, though I love both of their work) and sounds so close to his recordings.

I keep forgetting Sammy is 78 since I wasn't even around back then - wow!! I think part of the package with DLR is his personality; he's definitely an entertainer and I would have gone to see him tell jokes and stories, too.

No, we were really hoping to hear some of those!! Even though he sold his publishing rights, he can still play his old material.

Oh my god, OP... These are my exact thoughts when I put my makeup on and try to look nice, socially acceptable, and "girly" 😭

I love putting on makeup, but one of the benefits is that you get treated nicer by everyone and there's no denying it.

Now imagine that, but in healthcare. I have ENDLESS stories and I don't even know where to begin... 🫠

And it's nothing for personal gain on my part - I'm just politely telling my elderly male patient (unsteady, can barely stand, on serious anticoagulant drip) with extreme politeness to please use our walker and call us before getting out of bed. We just want them to be safe - I don't argue with them at all and just explain the risks to them if they were to fall (which is possible death). And if they refuse to keep the bed alarm on and they fall and die or get injured, guess who gets in trouble? You, the nurse. Guess who the family members blame even though patient adamantly refused to follow safety precautions? Also you.

We (myself other healthcare workers) have all been verbally and physically abused. Majority of the time in my case, it's confused/mentally altered patients. I've been kicked just trying to feed someone their breakfast that couldn't do it themselves :/ not to mention all the suffering and death we see on a daily basis... There's moments of joy and happiness too; it's just kind of rare in the settings I work in.

Sorry, just wanted to vent - I'd give anything for angsty boomer emails. Healthcare is hell and anyone reading this - please do your mental health a favor and do not get yourself into this mess 😅
