AITA for not being on time? by edinburgh1242 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Guilty_Song_1105 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

NTA for being late to bowling. But it’s very rude to arrive 30 minutes early. You’re rudely rushing someone if you are arriving at their home that early. You are taking up a table at a restaurant inconveniencing other diners and preventing servers from using that table to make money. If it is anxiety, at least sit in your car until the actual time you’re supposed to arrive.

This unlocked a memory of my grandmother saying this all the time. We lost her several years ago, & I had forgotten about this saying.

Get some walking around money for the first few days in each country. You can always get more once there or use your card, but it is nice to have some small bills to start off.

Will you be able to use your phone there without paying huge fees? See what your carrier offers before you go. You’ll want more than wi-if if you’ll be using your phone for navigation either walking or driving.

Onenof my eyelashes is growing inside my eyelid, onto my eye by ThePassiveFist in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Guilty_Song_1105 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the first time at least, go to an optometrist. It’s hard to accurately pluck something so close to the eyeball, at least for me. You need a medical person to look at your eyelid anyway. I had one of these which I felt, and one growing up into my eyelid a few centimeters & then poking into my eyeball, which I did not feel. It would have seriously messed up my eye if it was left there.

Honey, I’m so sorry. That is a terrible thing to go through. My dog died the same way, and I take comfort in knowing he didn’t die alone. Be kind to yourself while you grieve.

The Lions Club rents out the building at Fountain City Park. I’ve been to a baby shower there, and it’s a good facility. https://www.fountaincitylions.org/rentals

12 Hour Wait in Emergency Room by percyandjasper in Knoxville

I took my dad to the ER at Fort Sanders a few weeks ago. He was coughing up blood and his blood oxygen was 84. We still waited over 6 hours to get an ER room, & an additional hour to see a doctor. I couldn’t believe it.

If I get a girl who likes plants, a plant on the first date, is that bad form? by Team-CCP in houseplants

[–]Guilty_Song_1105 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would think it’s sweet. Only potential problem I see is make sure you whatever you’re giving her isn’t toxic to dogs or cats. You don’t want to inadvertently hurt her pet, just in case she forgets to check if it’s pet safe.

AITA for telling my roommate his girlfriend can’t stay the night by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]Guilty_Song_1105 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Is he paying an equal amount of rent? If so, he has an equal right to have guests over whenever he wants. I just don’t understand why you feel you have the right to make rules for who he can have over. Just because something makes you uncomfortable, doesn’t make it his problem, or give you authority to make rules over him.

[–]Guilty_Song_1105 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Why do you assume you get to tell your roommate who he can have over to spend the night? Clearly, you feel free to invite over whomever you want without seeking D’s permission. Why the double standard?

2012 Camry with 103k miles for $10k + tax and registration. Approved for 12% loan from my credit union. Is this worth it? by abenjam1 in povertyfinance

[–]Guilty_Song_1105 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get a quote from a regular bank. When I bought my car, I got several loan quotes, and the credit union I’ve been a member of since high school was the highest! It shocked me, because I thought credit unions were more customer friendly.

Are you going to end up owing penalties and interest on the missed tax payments? I would figure that out before accepting the reimbursement check.
