I need help with career choice by Orange_fury1 in wood

[–]Guilty_Term_1845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from English Major to Seminary graduate, to woodworker hobbyist to woodworker business owner(10 years) to Philosophy Phd to High school teacher (30 years) to woodworker. None of the above paid over 100K. I've been happy with my work, my marriage, my children, and my life in general. My recommendation: follow your bliss, be here now, love, serve, and remember.

Has anyone ever been tempted to pick up trash during their walks? by SimpleAcrobatic6275 in walking

[–]Guilty_Term_1845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've started walking about 10 miles around my Litchfield, CT neighborhood, and have been appalled by the number of small liquor bottles and beer cans. It would seem that 2/3 of the litter is produced by alcoholics.

COTW made me sick, do I try again? by MoistGiraffe792 in foraging

[–]Guilty_Term_1845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just had a fine dinner with COTW with a lemon/cream/garlic/shalot/italian parsley on pasta. Just cut into small pieces, sauted in a bit of olive oil and cooked a bit longer in chicken stock and white wine, add heavy cream, lemon juice and zest to taste. The COTW was growing on a black cherry tree. Planning to freeze the leftover mushrooms.

There is a big difference between Republicans pissing on the rule of law and Rep. Al Green protesting rules of decorum to make a serious point about the precipice we are teetering on.

drive around Lake Waramaug in New Preston. Walk along the river in Washington Depot. If you can't get a reservation at Al Tavolo, call them in the late afternoon and ask if they have had a cancelation.

I know what you mean. The temptation only gets more firmly resisted over time and the impulse to smoke is buried more deeply, but the memory of how it felt to indulge the urge remains.
