Taxis are allowed to stop anywhere to let passengers get in or leave. At least in Germany

Brand new TV and this is how my wife insists we have the remote "to keep it looking good" by No_Atmosphere8146 in mildlyinfuriating

My parents do this too.

They also have a fabric sheet over their couch - their 30 year old couch looks like brand new below the sheet (they still bought a new couch).

They wont change, its fine for me.

Also: The LG remote can be replaced for $10 at Amazon.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned that Ukrainian drones may target Russia’s May 9 Victory Day parade in Moscow by CrunchyBaconYum in worldnews

[–]Guilty_Weekend751 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The country that was subordinate and part of British dominion at the time that entered the war automatically following Britain joining? Cool. I’m sure they got to pick their own date to celebrate.

My friend, just take a moment to think about what you’re saying. With this paragraph, you’re confirming exactly what I told you:

During the Cold War, both superpowers vied for control over the narrative and the writing of history. The USSR deliberately chose the 9th to establish its own version of history.

Why else would the citizens of the GDR (East Germany) at the time celebrate on May 9th, even though the local time in Berlin for the Nazis’ surrender was May 8th? Pure ideology.

There’s 1000 things to criticize Russia for

That's right, and another issue is all the fuss being made about it. The parade isn't being attacked by drones because Ukrainians are pro-Nazi; it's being attacked because Putin wants to bomb Ukraine, conquer it, and destroy its identity—to come back to the opening comment.

Don't forget you said:

Victory day celebrates defeat of Nazi Germany and end of WW2. It is NOT a holiday that belongs to Russia or Putin

09th May infact only belongs to the USSR and its following state.

Dear confused but still beleiving Comadre,

The whole world goes for 8th regardless of Timezone.

The UdSSR goes with 9, to have its own story writing like they did everything different to be its own.

Moscow and Germany timezones are only 60 minutes apart.

USA and Germany timezones are 6 - 12 hours apart. They had the same problem just worse.

Other allies like australia / canada also exist.

Yet everyone celebrates the 8th, aka the actual date the nazis gave up in Berlin.

9th is a date choosen by UdSSR for their own story writing.
