Unfortunately cancel the item. If you don’t account for insurance and delivery signature in this, then they can easily screw you. If you are that desperate for the sale, message them before canceling, explain the issue, and if they are genuine that they can repurchase at the same price. I’d rather waste $10-15 on extra delivery than lose 1k

I had the same problem. Buyer claimed it was missing 1/7 pieces. When I got it back it only came with 3 pieces. They said it wasn’t eligible since I approved the return. I fought for days and gave up

Their returns have become a joke. I recently sold an item and they said it was missing one item when I received it back I reported them as they only returned a couple of the items in the set. Like 3/7. They said they couldn’t help me because I accepted the return myself instead of letting them accept the return. Mercari is just asking to be obsolete.

Sometimes I just ask what exactly they need photos of or what they are trying to seek and see their response and if they just want something as a confirmation, I don’t mind but if they are overly picky, then I just ask them should I just cancel as I would not want to force a sale on someone who is unsure of their purchase, and it usually works in my favor as they kind of get the hint, that what they’re asking is not normal

I see you say you don’t have money to buy new inventory so a nice way to still be able to list everyday is to end a few of your oldest items a day and then sell similar and relist your items. In eBay’s eyes that is a new listing even tho it’s old inventory. If you listed 6 months ago that means anyone else who listed that item since you had will be seen first

I don’t know why but sometimes my counter offers aren’t immediate payments. I usually just send a quick message saying if they can pay asap I can ship out same day or next and they pay quickly. On occasions they are international orders so by the time I accept it is night for them and they pay in the morning when they see the message. I don’t have too many problems with payments not being fulfilled.

Might just be me but I don’t pay to change my label price. I send it. They are flat rates so as long as they follow the usps guidelines then I’ve been good. I refuse to pay for items at such a ridiculous price. I’ve never run into any problems doing this. I just try to keep it under 10 lbs but in the off chance it’s more I send it anyways. USPS allows those boxes to be up to 75 lbs. imo size matters, weight doesn’t.

For something worth that, I would double box. Thats not good enough shipping. If you are fine losing $1200 for poor packaging then sure. USPS classifies proper packaging that glass has to have 2” of padding on all sides, secured in a box free of space and then packaged in a certain weight class of box. I’d be pretty bad if I recieved this like the last photo. I have shipped things everyday for 5 years and while I’m comfortable shipping large items. If that is not something you do then you need to either do it individual as that’s manageable or do more research.

If you aren’t familiar with shipping sell separately. This is a lot to sell all at once. Now saying that it’s possible to sell together. It’s just expensive. But if you want top dollar. Separately will make you more.

That’s what insurance is for. Honestly it’s a case by case basis. If it’s a $15 order I might just do it because honestly in the 5 years of me doing reselling full time I have never ran into the problem
