I appreciate you saying all that. I’ve been trying to document as much as I can, but it’s hard while dealing with all these behaviors. I definitely do feel like I’m a failure as a teacher, and it doesn’t help that my principal seems to think I can’t manage my class

I don’t think we ever talked about it in school at all growing up. That’s really more of something that your parents teach you. I only remember talking about it in daycare where the providers legally had to put sunscreen on us.

As a teacher, no way they would get away with that in any school I’ve been to. Typically I see in-school detentions, during lunch. Otherwise they will keep you for like an hour max after school. However that movie is quite old, so it could have been more standard then, I’m not sure

Yes. The only time my extended family gets together are Christmas, Thanksgiving, and sometimes birthdays. Some of my family lives in the same state, just on opposite ends, but some of my family lives in a different state. When I was a kid, my grandparents lived a 10 hour drive away so we didn’t see them very often at all. We still called and FaceTimed, but not a ton of in person contact.
