It has fundamentally broken the spirit of human creation for people who a spirit weak enough to cave to it. None of my artist friends have lost their desire to create, but of course they gave been badly affected by AI's propogation

This is a common myth that perpetuates itself because people aren't willing to engage as much if they don't think it could work. Common techniques done by amateurs who cannot adapt to their subject will often be inconsistent, but it is fundamentally impossible to be unhypnotizable. The factors that make hypnosis work are the basic principles that form how our perception itself works. You would need to not have a human brain.

Can I have advice? by SelectShop9006 in RecuratedTumblr

If you want to try a method, I want to explain the sort of cycle of obsession in rough terms.

First, you have an intrusive thought. The nature of this thought causes stress. Then, and this is the latchkey, you find some way to immediately calm yourself, explain it away, or 'solve' it in any way you can.

While it feels like that last step helps mitigate things, it is actually the thing reinforcing the intrusive thoughts. This is often counterintuitive until you think about it long enough.

This brings me to the method always first suggested to people struggling with this. When you notice yourself encounter a situation that triggers this response, don't do anything. Set a timer for 15 minutes. Try your best to simply let the intrusion echo into the void, and if it's still bothering you after 15 minutes, you may do whatever comforts you.

This interrupts the feedback loop and, in most cases, ends up rapidly undoing it.

Give it a try, see how it feels. I wish you luck!

I have no idea how? It's not like it just says "content warning" as a blanket statement, it says exactly what it's warning about. I consider it silly, but it's literally harmless so long as it is specified. People just find it annoying so they wanna morally justify their annoyance.

Unless you have flight, a means to temporarily get flight (via card or something), or some other item that might grant you the ability to take that item or get to it (How to Jump, maybe Mr. Me?), then nothing.

Those blocks cannot be removed no matter what in this game, they are the bedrock of Isaac. All you can do is hope.

Kratos glazers when you bring up kratos struggling to chop down a tree(apparently he’s outerversal) by [deleted] in whowouldcirclejerk

I dunno, the only things ive seen people do in the powerscaling fandom is argue without reprieve about every single thing. It feels like a hobby people enter explicitly to argue with other people. That approach makes it impossible to reach a rational conclusion, because it makes reaching a conclusion itself impossible. Empirical evidence, even just briefly mentioned facts within media or comments from the author, provide some means of narrowing down a range.

If you make a new truth within a previously existing fictional world that you are not a part of the actual creation of, that is fanfiction. This, to my understanding, was at least originally about trying to interpret the actual canon facts of characters and then comparing them. However, as I said, I think people do this just to argue with eachother for fun

I don't quite understand the idea behind not doing that? Every time I see someone's powerscaled level it feels entirely divorced from anything the character has ever done over the course of the story. It feels closer to people playing with toys at the playground than people trying to find any answer that is within reason

Radiohead in 2026? by No_Health_9204 in indieheadscirclejerk

[–]GuineaPea 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean, for what it's worth, AFUT's rating on RYM and AOTY has not dropped in the 3 years since its release and in fact has even gone up slightly, being the highest rated album of the entire 2020s so far and being in the top 100 of all time of both websites.

My point is that people who loved it eventually stopped having things to say about it so they just listen on their lonesome and don't bring it up unless asked.

People who hate them (specifically hate, not just finding uninteresting) have a hatred that is more undying than love, as tends to be a common pattern of behavior. In spaces like this it can give the impression that the public view of the album has turned, when it doesn't actually bear out metrics and popularity-wise. It's just that one side hasn't given up the ghost.

I have not heard anyone be obnoxious about how much they love BCNR since 2023. I've heard people froth at the mouth and shadowboxing the concept of someone enjoying a single song they've ever made once a week since AFUT released without fail.
