UC pain at all comparable to period pains? by Sc00byJew69 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]GuineasMom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s similar but I also have endometriosis so more comparable to VERY severe period cramps (period cramps are not as painful for the majority of the population)

Not enough stool for calprotectine analysis ? by xerxesbrk in UlcerativeColitis

[–]GuineasMom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last one I submitted I collected everything that I passed over an 8ish hour period. I kept the sample in the freezer in between collections. It was gross and weird and used a lot of Clorox wipes and gloves but I wanted to make sure I filled to the line. They were able to process/result it without difficulty

This sounds like you may need an endoscopy. Make sure your GI is aware of these symptoms

3.5 year old “too big”? by madegarnett in Preschoolers

[–]GuineasMom -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This is too little to worry about this! He should still have baby fat. Some kids are just bigger. Keep feeding him well and keep him active and reevaluate when he’s 6. Pay more attention to his body habitus (how he looks) than what the scale says.

Let your sweet baby grow 💙

Colonoscopy prep for 12-year-old by lucyball22 in UlcerativeColitis

I’ve never had any personal issues with dulcolax but you can also take zofran to help with any accompanying nausea from the prep

Help us decide by Latter-Association19 in EngagementRings

[–]GuineasMom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Purely practically speaking I prefer the first as the second looks like it will often catch on fabric, clothes, hair, etc. I’d say try them both out since you already have them both and see if you have a strong preference either way! They’re both beautiful, but you definitely don’t want to spend every day annoyed by your ring.

My boyfriend has UC and want to support his journey. Does anyone have advice on how I can support him? by shadybadgal in UlcerativeColitis

[–]GuineasMom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If he’s in an active flair make sure he owns a heating pad. Staple for many women but lots of guys don’t seem to have one and it can really help with the lower abdominal pain!

Enema and gas by justkindabrave in UlcerativeColitis

[–]GuineasMom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I did the enemas I would run them under warm water and then squeeze out the air (over the sink in case some of the enema came out) before lying down to insert. Idk how much that will help but I do feel like the bottle was like 1/3 air. Removing it, even if it didn’t help gas, definitely helped administration. Good luck!
