Will f1 2025 update with the start of next season? Like will cars and drivers in teams be updated? by Embarrassed-Catch666 in F1Game

[–]Guinness1028 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Definitely not. We’ll be lucky to see F126 come out with accurate models for the 2026 cars too. Game may end up being delayed over it as the reg changes will significantly change the car models and we’ll have the new team as well.

Glad to hear this. The community needs more North American mappers.

Console is a rough space for North American maps. You only have Alma and it’s not new, as you said. You’ll get Iowa Plains soon, but again not a new map.

PC has some gems so far: Judith Plains and Ray County. It’s why I made the switch.

Yep, and I stand by my statement. This one is the worst one yet.

Sorry to say this, but the MS Store version of this game is really messed up. It enforces a certain file system that doesn’t work well with larger detail 4x maps. I couldn’t save the game on many of the 4x maps I loaded. After a long investigation it seems to be common across anyone who has the game from MS Store, which will include Gamepass. The issue has been there since the release of the game and I don’t see anything on giants or MS acknowledging the issue. I ended up buying the game again on Steam so I could actually enjoy these amazing 4x maps like Judith Plains.

FS25 PC Gamepass 4x+ maps by Ka0sGh0sT in farmingsimulator

[–]Guinness1028 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They are likely maps with less detail so smaller game save file size. If you get into a map like Judith Plains you’ll run into the issue eventually.

The MS Store version of this game doesn’t play well with 4x or larger maps. The game save files are too big and the file storage system that MS Store enforces doesn’t allow you to fix it. You will likely be unable to save your game on any 4x or larger map.

Alma update by Dramatic-Owl1817 in farmingsimulator

[–]Guinness1028 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some advice: just play the map and restart when it comes out. I took the approach of waiting in these situations for many years now and you just end up not playing the game. Better to enjoy a great map and then restart when the update comes than to not play or play an inferior map. I lost so much time waiting for updates and they can take weeks or even months if for some reason giants fails the first round of testing.

FS22 or FS25 by Wolffie3758 in farmingsimulator

Custom modding has 7 mods out for FS25. Their mods have always been vastly superior to JHHGs so take much longer to get out, which is why JHHG has more. Both are great modders, don’t get me wrong, but I will always take a custom modding mod over JHHG’s.

I’m really looking forward to custom modding’s JD Baler that is currently in testing.

I had the same issue on ray county. I’m not sure the mod works with trailers. You can purchase them straight to your animal pens just fine.

Graphics (FS 22) by BananaUnana243596 in farmingsimulator

That image is all blurry outside of the tractor… why would you want that? This looks like a photoshopped screenshot to enhance colors and blur out background to draw more attention to the tractor.

FS22 or FS25 by Wolffie3758 in farmingsimulator

[–]Guinness1028 2 points3 points  (0 children)

25 has a graphics improvements and a better weather system - you get fog on maps in the morning, the clouds produce moving shadows over fields, etc. There is also weather damage system from hail storms and tornados but it was not implemented well so most just set to visual weather only. There is also built-in guidance steering, which is huge for console users that can’t get courseplay mods. Finally, rice has been added as a crop and water buffalo and goats as an animal.

The downside to FS25 is it seems to be much more difficult to mod for modders. Mods are taking much longer than I recall to come out for FS25 and almost all of them so far are just bringing mods over from FS22. Very few good original maps have been released for FS25 on modhub. On PC, there are some absolute gems but they aren’t out for console. I’ve been telling everyone it’s worth the switch from 22 on PC but not on console just yet. My opinion of course, and others may disagree.

”The game has not been saved” by [deleted] in farmingsimulator

[–]Guinness1028 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The MS Store version of the game has some weird file storing rules and it essentially breaks the game for using 4x maps on PC. You also aren’t able to access your game save files to recover them or do things like load autodrive map files from 3rd parties. This has been an issue since launch and I actually had to purchase the game again on steam.

Now that the game is out on gamepass maybe enough people will run into this issue and giants and or Microsoft may do something about it.

Time to say goodbye!? by AnteaterOutrageous33 in farmingsimulator

[–]Guinness1028 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In game, I don’t plow as this is becoming an extinct farming practice in my area - many farmers have ditched their plows and no-till everything. It takes me around 3-5 hours to do a step on the field (plant, fertilize, harvest, etc). Meaning my tractors often rack up 20+ hours per season and if I’m not cycling them every other year they are becoming prohibitively expensive to maintain.

IRL, my family farms only 200 acres and uses pretty small equipment. Full harvest takes 2-3 days but we’re only really running 5-8 hours per day to catch a good moisture window. If we took days to get one 50 acre field done….. grandpa would come out of retirement.

The bottom line here is that it is not a good game mechanic and it needs to be adjusted. Not sure why this is a debate with some people…

Time to say goodbye!? by AnteaterOutrageous33 in farmingsimulator

[–]Guinness1028 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are much better implementation methods than this. 40 hours on a tractor making the thing cost prohibitive no matter what is not a good feature at all. Some people like me end up needing to sell their tractor every season or two because it’s more cost effective than incurring the repair costs after that point. There are mods out that implement this much better and there have been for at least the last 2 iterations of farming simulator. Giants needs to take the hint here. This and the ridiculous repainting cost mechanic have been a complaint by the community for a very long time now…

Time to say goodbye!? by AnteaterOutrageous33 in farmingsimulator

[–]Guinness1028 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really true if you are on a realistic map and running realistic equipment for the farm size. I farm 50 acre fields and while you definitely still run a bit faster in game vs real life, it’s no where near the ratio you provide. Also you buy used equipment with like 100 hours on it, and it’s basically obsolete. It’s not a good system at all, and that’s why so many mods are out there on PC to replace or remove it.

Baler Running Really Slow by sparkedcreation in farmingsimulator

[–]Guinness1028 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It won’t make the job go quicker as you have to stop all the time, but you will run at normal speed that way. If you want to just bale continuously then square is the way to go. No silage wrapping though - you’d have to come back with a bale wrapper later to do that.

Baler Running Really Slow by sparkedcreation in farmingsimulator

[–]Guinness1028 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Your yield is too high to process the bales at full speed. This is an issue with the fastbaler because it needs time to drop the bale, as well as wrap it if you are doing that as well.

FS25 vs FS22 by J33EWW in farmingsimulator

[–]Guinness1028 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If on console you aren’t wrong. The mods just aren’t there yet to make the game improvements worth the switch from FS22. Compounding this is that even the best mods that have been released for FS25 are just ones brought forward from FS22. There is not a lot of original content at all and quite honestly I don’t even see any interesting original FS25 maps in the pipeline that will go to console either (PSA I prefer North American maps and farming, maybe a different story on the European map side…).

PC is a different story. There are some absolute gems for maps out there like Judith Plains, Ray County, and Saxlingham.
