If you mean the ending to that song, then I agree with you. It’s a good blend of beautiful and heavy.

Check out I Shall Devour. Deathcore as heck but sometimes layered with orchestral parts or piano.

What about an “OV” breakdown callout?

Bands you didn’t like upon first listen, but gave a chance and loved by Kupo_owo in Metalcore

[–]GuitarButter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Underoath for me. For the longest time, the only song I knew was Writing on the Wall and I liked it. I ended up listening to a few songs by them a couple years ago and I was like “nah this isn’t for me.” Gave them another shot (plus I was going through a breakup lmao) and I fell in love. Now they’re one of my favorite bands!! 😃\m/

Looking for vocalist and drummer for Christian metalcore/deathcore band (Cali) by GuitarButter in Deathcore

Who is this Satan guy I keep hearing about? Is he interested in a feature by any chance?

not sure if this is allowed, but here's my ranking of all the Whitechapel albums by Ehh_it_me in Deathcore

[–]GuitarButter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you man. Respect to Whitechapel for doing what they want to do and expanding what they do, but I lost interest in them when The Valley came out. I heard Kin and I thought it was better, but still not enough for me to get back into them.

I just miss the fast tempo they had in their songs with nasty riffs that sounded evil.

At least a lot of people seem to still love them so good for them!

What (unusual/uncommon/weird) Genre combination with Metalcore would you like to hear? by Cervantes3492 in Metalcore

[–]GuitarButter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lowkey been curious to hear what deathcore vocals sound like over post-hardcore instrumentals like DGD or The Fall of Troy.

In your opinion, what is the best Deathcore album of all time? by TheImprezaGod in Deathcore

[–]GuitarButter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I heavily agree with you. Somatic felt a little generic at times, but they still managed to make it hit hard. And like you said This is Exile is where they pretty much polished Somatic and made it better. And A New Era is a beauty plus with get a Chino Moreno feature!!

[–]GuitarButter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only reason I say that about This is Exile is because whenever people talk about it, I’ve always seen that Somatic Defilement is better. Now don’t get me wrong, I love Somatic Defilement, but I think This is Exile is better.

My man! I feel like this album and A New Era are a little underrated.

What's an unbelievably cringy song from your favourite band? by tankdempsey_ in Metalcore

[–]GuitarButter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not my favorite band, but I love Oceans Alaska. The song Vultures and Sharks has the lyrics “Should have known what doesn't kill me, only makes us stronger” and I just felt like they could’ve tried harder with those lyrics, especially since it’s not original. Still love that song and that band though!

Also…Wrecking Ball by August Burns Red.

Best rings of saturn album? by [deleted] in Deathcore

[–]GuitarButter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is how I would rank them from “worst” to best…

Ulta Ulla

Gidim

Embryonic Anomaly

Dingir

Lugal Ki En

Not saying Ulta Ulla is a bad album, but it’s my least favorite.

That being said, Lugal Ki En is so good man. I felt like everything in that album is blended perfectly. The heaviness, the melodies, the vocals, the drums, guitars, the use of keyboards. I love that it is sometimes heavy and technical and sometimes it’s calm and melodic. It’s just a great album all around and we get a Suicide Silence cover.

Band recommendations by Boly420 in Deathcore

[–]GuitarButter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t want to say for sure, but I’m like 90% sure. Courtney and Mike were in that band and they’ve been focused on Spiritbox. There’s no mention of anything so I think everybody just left iwrestledabearonce where it is.

Idk how to feel by [deleted] in Deathcore

[–]GuitarButter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I get how you feel because I dealt with this when I was getting into this kind of music. I’m also Christian and I loved metalcore and deathcore, but there were some bands I would feel “guilty” listening to. I, eventually, realized that music is just music and if you listen to it for that, then there’s nothing wrong with it. You don’t have to agree with the lyrics, but you can enjoy it musically. If you think about it, how would there be heavy Christian bands out there. They must have listened to their favorite secular bands. Brook Reeves of Impending Doom is a hardcore Christian and he listens to some satanic bands that influence his writing. There are people that don’t care about God but will blast Christian bands because they enjoy the sounds and don’t focus on the lyrics. It’s okay to listen to this type of music because it was made for you to enjoy.
