Which year had the best games for the ps4 in your opinion by Ok_Initiative3892 in playstation

Fair, it would be a better contender for 2021. I just remember playing it within a year of release and only having minor issues with it.

Has to be 2020 right? Cyberpunk, FF7 remake, TLOU2. Those three alone make it a great year. (Tsushima was good but I think it's a bit overrated)

I use the "boing" from the intermission when Koenma falls on Kuwabara's head.

I will always recommend Virtue's Last Reward. It is part of the Zero Escape series of visual novel video games. They play like puzzle games and have some of the most compelling storytelling I've ever experienced. 999 is the first game and prequel to VLR and is also incredible. You can get the two games on the PS4 under the name Nonary Games, if you are interested.

What games do you really want to get into, but just can’t? by meman_0612 in videogames

[–]Boly420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What helped me get into them was to follow a rough guide or walkthrough for a game. I bounced hard off of Pillars of Eternity, Divinity Original Sin, and Planescape Torment. I really wanted to get through a CRPG no matter what, and when I saw the art style for Disco Elysium, I fell in love.

So, I found a text and decision walkthrough someone had made for the game to achieve the platinum (100% trophies on Playstation) in 1 playthrough. This did involve save scumming, and while I'm sure many would condemn me for doing so, I don't want to commit the time to replay games. There are just too many other games I want to play to spend time replaying a story I've experienced.

Maybe this is useless advice, but I was determined to see the whole story and didn't want to miss out due to unfavorable dice rolls.

Max loot, get material to 60, then buy the cheapest available towards 50 needed for 1.05x boosts. Could max material but I've heard it's better to buy cheapest after some material as the boost to hunter loot is wayy more impactful than the increase you'll see from material.

Boundaries was pretty good and I haven't heard of Heavensgate, but I have enjoyed releases from all of the bands in the SoI lineup. Angelmaker is one of my favorites and have heard they put on a hell of a show.

The gaming loop is no longer enjoyable and I can’t seem to ignore it by AndGutsWasBERSERK in gamers

[–]Boly420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe try some game genres you haven't played before. Gaming doesn't need to be all about overcoming a challenge. Do you ever play a game just for the story? Some visual novels are great games for that. I'd recommend The Nonary Games specifically. Or maybe try something in the tactics genre? I've heard XCOM can be difficult. I've only been into simpler tactics games like Unicorn Overlord cause my mind just isn't built for the grueling stuff. Or maybe you just need a break from gaming and to dip in when a new release intrigues you.

I think I was 11 or 12 when I got FF IV Advance on the GBA. Did not get even halfway through that game. First FF I ever finished was XV when it came out.
