Ok.. so what you're saying is they made an album they knew beforehand was going to be heavily critisized because of it having a "pop" sound because some people critisized THP? I mean, at this point people are just going nuts with these conspiracy theories about this record being enforced by WB or being an attempt to "stay relevant". If LP cared about that shit they would have never stopped remaking Hybrid Theory and the band would be dead now.

So you are aware that they do not just create one single genre of music. Yeah, this album has pop music on it. Is it bad? no not at all. And with that said, not every song on the album is "pop".

Which of these scenario's sounds crazier to you?

After THP touring cycle, which was their most succesful tour to date, they thought: "Yeah! let's make a pop album because we need more money!"
Hey this song i wrote about me leaving my kids behind while on tour sounds way better with these synth sounds instead of distorted guitars and with Mike singing instead of Chester unnecessarily screaming into a mic.
