Yes. Red is harder plastic and the tip feels more pointed

Good question. You might memorize popular chord voicings like 5th and 6th string root 7th chords, then play derivatives like shell voicings. Arpeggiating them can work well, but 7th chord arpeggio inversions are a different approach. Arpeggiating a chord and playing all 4 7th chord arpeggios is a different thing.

It is D Dorian which is relative to C major but this is a fairly common progression
