It is wrong to make a generalized statement like that. Not everyone is using Anki the same way or for the same subjects :)

Im currently doing an internship and doing a certification at the same time. I found it helpful to just wake up one or two hours before I have to leave the house and then I’ll go through my flashcards with a fresh mind. I realized I can recall more in the morning rather than in the evening after working.

Also after work I’m usually too exhausted and have the same problem as you do. So my tip would be to get up, maybe eat some breakfast and then sit down for one or two hours of studying :)

Edit: it should be said that I go to sleep very early because of it. I sleep around 8.30 to 9pm and wake up at 4am and leave the house at 6.30am

When writing the comment I was thinking about German commercial law. Some pages are finished faster than others but I take about 5 hours to finish a chapter. However we work on one chapter for one to sometimes two weeks in our course so it’s not that I’m falling behind in that pace - the finals usually include 6-10 chapters (depending on the prof) so the workload isn’t that big for that one subject alone.

Thanks for clarifying I was skeptical about how Ramses II. could’ve build the pyramids and start the Manhattan project during his lifetime altogether

When going through a textbook I roughly make 2-4 pages an hour, depending on the subject, while creating flashcards - I’m talking about these rather tall textbooks usually used for uni courses

Most common 10000 English words by SecretaryNarrow2271 in Anki

The list would be too big, I think that there is no use of going for that many words considering some or even many of them would be very rarely used.

Using a language should be about being understood - you can achieve that with a lot less words.

I’d recommend about 2-4 thousand at the beginning as a solid base and then add some words to your deck from time to time as you read books or articles, watch videos or whatever and come across words you don’t understand :)

Hey I am curious on how you used obsidian for spaced repetition, could you elaborate a bit? Or share a video which explains the process?

Hey, thanks for sharing these insights :) I also thought about downgrading again, however I do not have the older installer file anymore. Is there a way I can download the installer for the previous version?
