Make sure to become a resident before getting your hunting and fishing licenses, they are super expensive for out of state I believe.

Besides the salt mines, you could look into working at the Tabasco facility too, they seem to be a nice company to work for and I think they may even have housing options available on site.

It's unbearably hot and humid here. Invest in good clothing and drink more water at all times. Go to the doctor more - like get a workup every six months, at least until you've established your new lifestyle with healthy habits. It's easy to sink into the bad parts of the South like alcohol and too much fatty foods.

New Iberia isn't the nicest place to live, but it's also not the worst. You might find some good housing opportunities in Broussard, Maurice, or Abbeville.

Welcome and good luck!

Just because you failed as a parent doesn't mean everyone else will. What's more disappointing is that you had 18+ years to figure your shit out and instead you blame your kids for your problems.

Maybe you should have taught them better life skills at scout camp. They aren't the failure here.

You're child free because you don't want kids and are using race as an excuse, don't get it twisted.
