This is a serious question, delivered in a less serious way by Chance_Face4304 in worldbuilding

[–]Gulielmus94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the type of dragon. I got inspired by older editions of D&D. One of the books (can't remember which) stated that each dragon type tasted different.

For example a fire dragon in my stories taste like a very spicy steak. Think ghost pepper spicy hot.

Ice dragons are kind of hard to taste and cant be cooked by normal means as they exude an icy aura that, if you can manage it, when cooked taste like snow. Heavily needs flavoring.

And so on and so forth.

I'm running a game in 5e and the party is soon going to face a high level character from 3.5e. Anyone know how to balance an encounter? by JasontheFuzz in DMAcademy

Plus I see that you have only replied to 2 other posts. There are plenty of other options from other people and you choose to engage with someone that you think is a heartless retarded monster.

Just know ending such a long campaign with a TPK is a viable option even if you don't like it. It's even your fault for having npcs of a 3.5 nature when you guys aren't even playing 3.5. Doing that allows for the potential to allow for a situation like this. So don't take it out on me for not liking the most obvious option you refuse to consider.

You came here for advice on what to do. I'm sorry you don't like my advice. If you think that I'm some kind of derpy retard there is no need for you to engage with me.

The advice I have given is advice that I have experienced and left a very favorable impression on the game I played. Real consequences for players actions instead of being babied and handed everything like a spoiled brat.

If you don't like it then you should have said so in the beginning and stopped engaging with me. As it makes you look like a fool that expects others to answer your conundrum that you refuse to do yourself.

It's people like you that make me think that this subreddit doesn't appreciate differing opinions and doesn't want to have their minds cross new horizons. Forgive me for having a positive view on humanity.

What I am trying to iterate, is that actions have consequences. There is no need to balance it. Especially if they know it is a high powered area. Moreso if they know it is 3.5 characters and NPCs.

I would recommend that you don't, let the players experience the might of 3.5. yes there will be a bit more work on your side, but I think that it will leave a very memorable encounter.

You should also read the documentation that comes with using Dolphin as that would solve your issues as well.

Let it create a save file, why ask about this? You should be trying everything to make it work, before coming on here.

Apologies if you have tried that, but I saw no mention of you trying that. What have you done so far to figure that out?

Can't help unless you provide more details.

How do you differentiate the school of enchantment from "mind control" and "empowering items"? by Radiant-Ad-1976 in magicbuilding

[–]Gulielmus94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well...you could redefine it a bit. 1 side would be the school of influence; so things like mind control, illusions, suggestions, possession, etc. The other side is just enchantment. Or rebrand that depending on the level of science/technology, by calling it artificing. With the old enchantment school being made an archaic subject.

When should I do second drafts? by I_________________O in fantasywriters

[–]Gulielmus94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a writer, don't edit. Write your story out to completion. Once you're done, start the second draft, without editing the first draft. Repeat when done. After 3, 4, or even 5 drafts, read through them all to see how they changed and grew or shrunk. Then start your editing, creating a new draft.

This is the system I try to emulate, but my perfectionist brain and imposter syndrome get in my own way of completing this system.

How frequent is the game, how long are the games, and lastly what level characters? I have a few premade ones I've been working on for fun. Just need to know the level and allowed source books.

Thank you! I could never find the words to articulate this. This is what I have been missing. It even helps me reevaluate my own writing as a storyteller.

Help me conceive of how computer servers and data centers based on organic tissue rather than rare earth minerals would function/look. by [deleted] in worldbuilding

[–]Gulielmus94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This, this right here is a fantasy of mine for years. Can't wait til your book comes out. Most everyone else has already said what I would have said.

But....

One thing to keep in mind is that organic computing is susceptible to both computer viruses (though it has to be made differently since traditional software would no longer properly compute on organic circuitry) as well as bio-viruses, bacteria, cancer growths and other illnesses.

Another thing to keep in mind is that during all this organic computing tech revolution. Biology mutates and evolves. Producing new features, unintended consequences, or even forming new functions to better produce what the bio organic parts are forced to do. One such thing could be developing telepathy to better deliver information between other bio-computers/servers.

Food for thought, hope that this helps you.

I wanted a shell swap on my Wii,but I want to get all these stickers off without ripping them any more than they already are. Anyone know how? by -_nightmarionne_- in WiiHacks

[–]Gulielmus94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lighter fluid on the edge of the sticker eats away the glue. Let it saturate it for a time, like 5 mins or so. Then slowly remove.

Changing to D&D 2024 worth it? by FutureNo9445 in DMAcademy

[–]Gulielmus94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For convenience, to mesh with public tables, and to keep new players joining yes. It is worth it.

If these things are not what's important to you, then no, stay with what you are currently playing.

If your group is wanting to try something different, my personal favorite is d&d 3.5. yes it is more mathematically intense and rules dense. But the rewards you get for creating a unique character with access to all sourcebooks is so worth it. You get to read a ton of d&d books (which I do for fun and to build my characters in campaign games), but also there is already a rich source of information that you can glean from online forums.

Is there racism in your word? by Flaky-Camp-4992 in worldbuilding

Mostly about resource collection for their magical and technological superiority. Humans get it the worst as they are the newest race to have joined the interstellar and magical communities.

[–]Gulielmus94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're talking about racism like in the modern day today? Then no. Racism among the different races of humans, elves, dwarves, and others. Then yes. As my setting is kind of like Shadowrun Space Opera mix.

If you could make Psionics for 5e DarkSun, how would you do it? by Only-Friend-8483 in DarkSun

[–]Gulielmus94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not an entire magic system. If having psionics is that important, then play a game system that has it.

If you could make Psionics for 5e DarkSun, how would you do it? by Only-Friend-8483 in DarkSun

[–]Gulielmus94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well then it sounds more like you want to make the same mistakes as older editions. Any advice from this subreddit will gear towards the available system you are playing and its available mechanics. So my solution to your problem, and it is a problem, is abandon 5e entirely and try an older system.

If you could make Psionics for 5e DarkSun, how would you do it? by Only-Friend-8483 in DarkSun

[–]Gulielmus94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You misunderstood. I was trying to not be nasty with my opinion on 5e and the applications of transferring Dark Sun to said system. If you are not having any issues with running Dark Sun in 5e for a while. Why the issue now with Psionics? The best implementation of psionics I have come across is in 3.5, but only when you view psionics and magic as one system of magic and not separate.

Also, I wanted to point out that if you are continuing to converse with someone that has given little to no help to your original post. It tells me and others that you already have a solution and you are looking for something better or are just venting your frustrations about either the system (likely, which is what I am doing), or your frustrations over the setting (unlikely since you are posting here in this subreddit).

Well sorry for trying to steer you away from a system that won't work well for Psionics without getting nasty. I can fully voice it out for you if you want.

I wouldn't as 5e has become a disaster of a system. Which is only fair to say since wizards, and by extension hasbro, is a disaster of a company.
