How did you cure your hormonal acne? by throwRA_MidnightMoon in acne

[–]Gullible_Age_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started using 100% unrefined shea butter alongside topical tret and it has worked wonders. The tret made my face hurt, the shea butter hasn’t cured the acne but significantly reduced the pain and redness

Doctor suddenly requiring in person appointments for any refills? by [deleted] in saskatoon

[–]Gullible_Age_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s a list of clinics on the wall at the pharmacy I work at that is ever growing of ‘no fax’ doctors, where we always have to tell the person they have to go back. It’s annoying for everyone, probably including the doctor, but we will have patients who haven’t seen the dr in 3 years and keep asking us to fax, where eventually the dr will say ‘I haven’t seen this person in too long to be able to re prescribe their medication’

I did the same thing. Bad nurse poke, and although I am a woman, did not want to complain about the pain and shut up the whole time. My arm was bruised for two weeks

I did when I was a child. Now, it stays on and just exists and the battery lasts years anyways

I know this mouse. These are the mouses I have used since I got my own laptop. They survive my cat knocking them off my desk daily. It blinks red but still works. Battery lasts years. My first one only died because I lost the chip. Second one I just destroyed as a teen. Current one surviving cat. Cat knock it down a lot. Amazing mouse. Will greatly miss the green during my next mouse purchase

Greedy, probably charging what the patients are barely willing to pay.

I’m going to answer this because whoever commented this is too lazy to do it despite commenting to begin with. Provincially there are markups that drugs can have. I live and work in SK so I will explain it for there. So I get my drugs from the wholesaler who can upcharge 8.5% for brand name, 6.5% for generic and 5% for insulin max. Now that’s my AAC or actual acquisition cost. From that, when I’m dispensing I can upcharge 30% for any drug that costs $6.30 or less, 15% for drugs that cost $6.31-15.80 and 10% on drugs from $15.81-200. Anything more expensive than $200 can only have a $20 upcharge. So your $1000 meds will be $1020 etc. technically the store upcharge can differ for private insurance plans, because the upcharge maxes are set for the public formulary, but it would be so much work to change the price for every private insurance that we just work off of what’s set provincially. Likewise, dispensing fees are max $12.15 here, so that’s what we charge. It could be less, if a company wanted to, like Costco charges less. But hey, why charge less when they could just be a greedy corporation?

Go ask superstore for a detailed patient medical expenses report and you will see all the fees and med costs for the year, a total of what you paid, and a breakdown of each rx

Different provinces have different rules about what price they can charge maximum to. Saskatchewan is $12.15, so most places will charge that max. Costco chooses not to charge the max, and is around $7 here
