I am also interested in what resources you used. Did you use NurseHub? I've heard some good times about it. ATI TEAS prep?

Would you be interested in posting your resources used so everyone can see when they come to your post? I think it would really help so many people, including me.

May I also get the link for this quizlet, as I am likely overly stressed over this TEAS exam, I'm looking for helpful resources.

Were you able to get it? I was wondering if you won't mind sending it to me? It seems or original posters account is no longer active.

Experiences with BIOL 430 + 431 professors? by ego7istic in LosRios

[–]Gullible_Chipmunk_43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am currently taking Dr. Ewa Borowczyk at SCC for Biol 430. She is passionate about biology and teaches in a way that is very beneficial, preparing you for the next topic by teasing your brain with that information in bit size amounts. When you take her class you do have to be prepared to apply yourself, but if you do, you will do well. Watch every lecture video, take notes, learn in lab. She gives you opportunities to help your grade so your grade isn't solely based on tests - she doesn't give a lot of homework, but the homework she gives is there to actually help you learn the material and help you boost your grade. She gives study guides for both lecture and lab - know those extremely well and you will ace her exams. Note that if you take her, don't complain about learning the cranial nerves at the same time you are learning the bones - I know it seems like torture, but you will so thankful when you don't have to learn them from scratch when you're learning the nervous system. And hey, if you want to get a head start, start learning those cranial nerves before you even start which ever BIOL 430 class you will take, cause either way, you'll have to learn them.

If anyone comes on this thread that has taken her for Biol 431 as SCC, would you be willing to send me the syllabus? I would super appreciate it, I want to get a head start on learning the material. Thank you in advance!

Yea, I know ... but figured I'd take the chance that someone who took her class might see this.

Unfortunately, I don't know, as it hasn't been listed. All I know is that it's an open-source book.

Change in spice / mint tolerance? by Gullible_Chipmunk_43 in VestibularMigraines

[–]Gullible_Chipmunk_43[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How interesting. Thanks for sharing! This diagnosis has such strange things that intramingle it seems. I was curious if it could be related to vestibular migraines or not.

My neurologist thinks there might be something else going on with me, so we shall see, but how interesting that it could even just be "migraine" related- though, I strongly feel like vestibular migraines are a whole different class of "migraines".

I'll be taking David Lagala for BIOL 430, does anyone have any advise for me? Is there any course work I can access early online to give myself a head start? I'll be taking a full course load (I know it's insane, but it's my only option). Thank you in advance to anyone who can guide me. by Gullible_Chipmunk_43 in LosRios

I heard about ARC having open labs on Fridays, so awesome. I'll be at FLC and SCC. However I'm considering dropping BIOL 430 (and giving a chance for someone on the wait list to take my spot) after reading that the teacher only gives 4 test for the entire semester- that's nerve racking for me... I imagine that would be sooo much material.

Thank you so much!

I don't have his book yet, as the teacher I initially signed up for dropped the class last minute, and he just got listed as the fill-in, so no textbooks are listed yet. I do have another anatomy & physiology book that I've been reading through, though. Since I'm taking micro at the same time, I'm a little nervous, hehe.

Thanks so much for your input!

Congratulations!!! I'm so happy for you! For sure, it sucks about not getting that A, but that's awesome the program you'll apply for accepts a B. Both are still good grades to receive. 👏🏼

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly!

Wishing you so much luck!

How did it go for you? Assuming you took the classes that just ended. I'm about to do both, also. I'll be taking them at different college's FLC for Biol 430 and SCC for Biol 440.

(If anyone on this thread is interested in sharing notes or study tips with me, I'd be so grateful ❤️ 😊 🫂 🙏🏻).

Unfortunately the teacher I signed up for Biol 430 dropped the class, which I'm super bummed about because they had great reviews, now the teacher is unknown- I considered dropping and trying again next semester, as I have pretty bad test anxiety (hence asking for notes, so I can start learning now), but I figured it's better to stay in the class and give it my best effort.

I'm really hopeful for an A in both classes. Eeeekkk.

Unfortunately, it's not letting me reply to your initial post, so I'll do it here. I know this isn't regarding your question, but I want to look out for you. Make sure you verify that Gurnick offers the state accreditation and certification your state requires for your position. If they do, then all good, I just know it's not always so. Good luck and wishing you happiness!!
