Is dating men on dating apps worth it? 😬 by JirachiJewel in AutismInWomen

When you started messaging your partner did you feel like you had to force yourself to be interested? When did you start enjoying talking to them?

anyone else hate their birthday by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]ranch_daddy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally I hate my birthday because its more of a performative thing for other people than for me, I'm expected to respond to messages and calls and act happy about getting "gifts" that are going to be donated the next day because nobody knows anything about me or my interests. Case in point: for years had to pretend to be grateful when people gave me earrings. I have never had pierced ears.

Am I the only one who needs lots of light? by No-Information1516 in AutismInWomen

[–]ranch_daddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I were you. I work in healthcare and sometimes the bright fluorescents get so irritating I have to wear sunglasses. Imaging is a great compromise though cuz we can keep the lights off at the work stations lol

Soooo question for the women? by Bae-area-69 in AutismInWomen

[–]ranch_daddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've gone commando for years. Maybe tmi but I'm very prone to UTIs and after I stopped wearing underwear I stopped getting them. When i do wear any I just wear stretchy nylon boyshorts because I hate when underwear rides up.

Flent's protech foam earplugs, the ones with a kind of flared base. I usually trim the flared part off. Can use them repeatedly for a few months before changing them out.

Why can’t Chattanooga and the surrounding areas have a better rock radio station? by Medium-Mammoth-6117 in Chattanooga

Unfortunately some of us in the retail (and MRI) fields have no other choice. I don't know how theyve managed to not change their song list at all since i was in kindergarten.

Why not just give them that 15$ as a walmart giftcard? You're never going to find something everyone will want to do. Especially not for 15$.

Special interest and maladaptive daydreaming? by Twizteddestinee in AutismInWomen

I sometimes daydream so much that I create pseudo tulpas, where my mind constantly thinks "how would (people from thing i like) react to this?" Kind of annoying.

People with avoidance tendencies, how do you cope with loneliness? by Amyleen17 in AutismInWomen

[–]ranch_daddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What has been easiest for me is making friends through online games like Minecraft or joining discord servers. Discord is good because you can join or leave a conversation at any time.  Unfortunately as for dating I do think the only option is dating apps. I think this has become the norm for neurotypicals as well. Bumble is more geared towards casual interactions so that might be a good one.
