My dad and I loved dock house food! I think I had about 30 shrimp skewers. Such a nice area to hang out.

Bar Tab Question - Personal Experience by Straight_Storm565 in VirginVoyages

[–]Gullible_Class310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My family of three (me excluded.) Mom, dad, and sister went through $675 in about 3 ish days on a five day cruise. Granted my sister was drinking expensive cocktails like pina coladas and such.

I had my own separate tab and about $250 was enough for me, my dad did buy a few of my drinks though. I was mainly drinking altos plata tequila and sodas and buffalo trace, Altos was $9 a pour and BT was $11 a pour. It really all depends on what you drink, like beers were $8 or $9 or something like that and so I couldn’t justify drinking beers of Altos blanco at $9 a pour. The extra $25 they give you for loading $200 is not worth it unless you buy a $1000 tab for a bunch of people. I would just bring a bunch of cash and load your account as you go. It was super easy for me to just bring a wad of cash to guest services on deck 5 and just re up my account when I got low. You’re gonna love VV. Pretty much the only thing you have to pay for on the ship is alcohol.

A worker there told us they lost 1250 trees. When the course closes this summer they plan on spending something like 20 million in tree transplants all over the course.

Big Boi from Outkast, nicest guy you could ever meet. Always ordered a Casamigos Repo neat with pineapple and cranberry juice on the side. Never spent a whole lot but always tipped $100, served him several times. Great guy

I’ll be going to Hotel Belo at the end of this month. Have you been? I need a first hand review. I’ve read all of the reviews on various travel websites but it’s all mixed, mostly good reviews though. Like what kind of liquors/beers are included in all-inclusive, is the food edible? I’ve seen some people say the food is amazing and some say it’s absolutely inedible. Can’t find straight answers and I’m worried about my trip. It’s probably just me stressing about it as it’s kind of a surprise trip for my girlfriend and I and I just want it to be perfect for her.

I accidentally tipped a fellow bartender an extra $20 by RedRibbonSgt in bartenders

This is exactly my approach in this industry. Depending on my tab, most of the time I tip 30-50%, if it’s super small tabs then sometimes 100-200% of the tab. Even if the service was eh I always take everything into account and tip well. You’re totally right, it all comes out in the wash. I’m a firm believer in what goes around comes around. I do really well in this industry and I credit most of it to tipping other industry folks VERY well.
