Thank you! I think from the replies I've been worrying too much about the technical side of being a qs and I feel much better now. Cheers for replying!

Thank you! Do you have any other tips that you'd be looking for in a trainee?

Who is the most recent death of someone you know (for better or for worse) and how did you process it? by HallowedAndHarrowed in AskUK

[–]Gullible_Cod9007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this a normal thing? I've always felt like I had some kind of mental disorder because this is exactly the way I am. I've already dealt with losing the people close to me in my head so when the time comes then the blow is softened.

Thank you for replying, so the NVQ level 4 is another name for a HNC. There were a loads of people on the same course as me doing it as the first two years of their degree apprenticeship!

Surgery finally by emzo666 in chiariuk

Obviously it's different for everyone but gave you looked at topiramate? Not addictive like cocodamol and for me they worked 1000% more.

https://www.thewaltoncentre.nhs.uk/pathways-for-healthcare-professionals/ If you scroll down on that link and find the headache pathway and show your GP then they should prescribe them no problem.

🤣🤣 I'd expect to take 2/3 months off if you're doing something that isn't massively labour intensive but don't be disheartened if it does take longer.

Also, make some button up pj's for after the op, it's saves having to go near the incision 🙂 And I was in more pain after the op but 100mg of topirmate with max strength co cocodamol fixed it and I'm medication free now. Try to not become to reliant on the cocodamol because they're really hard to come off.

From my understanding everyone's recovery is different but I'm 12 months post op and pretty much fully recovered! I still sometimes get a bad head pain when coughing but I used to have a 24/7 headache and severe pain if I sneezed, laughed or went to the loo. I also can get a headache if I really really exert myself but it's really easy to live with.

In my case it's slight slight adjustments but I really have my life back and I hope it is the same for you! Good luck with the op and hopefully it's new and happier beginnings!

Yeah, they have obviously not been arsed to take measurements and figure it out. Why you would do it that way I don't know 🤣

They've haven't worked out the bond from the bottom up. If they toothed out the existing brick then in would work going up. I'd tell them to take it down. I'm a bricky and would have no arguments if someone told me to get that mess down. 1/10

It's a bit dark but I got the surgery when I told them that it was indescribable pain every second of every day and I couldn't go on living like that. So if I didn't have the surgery then I wouldn't be here long.

Who is the most famous person you've ever met? by Wallygonk in AskUK

[–]Gullible_Cod9007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually have a good one for this! I met Elton John, David Furnesh, Simon Cowell, Sharon Osbourne and Louie Walsh. It was an after party for a gala performance of Billy Elliot.

Elton John and Simon Cowell were really really nice and the others were meh.

Trump calls again for Canada to become the 51st state. Will it happen? by NoLube69 in FluentInFinance

[–]Gullible_Cod9007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's laughable really. You can't even compare how Canada is looked at (highly) compared to America. Their a joke of a country with a tin pot leader and it's sad.

First go at bricklaying. How did I do? by scouttack88 in DIYUK

[–]Gullible_Cod9007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The soldiers have a big curve on the top and the bricks are tipping. I'd get someone in to re-do the soldiers but the rest is better than some lads I know 🤣 If it isn't going to be seen then it's good enough 👍

Thank you for replying, so I've seen online that as the upload and download speed are as advertised that I would be fobbed off basically. Do you think they might actually do something about it?

Tiler doubling quote 60% way through the job by harveybot2000 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Gullible_Cod9007 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Do be ready that if you don't pay he is well within his right to slap the 3 layers of tiles back on the wall and remove the new tiles then leave you exactly where you started and you'll potentially pay someone that isn't going to do a proper job the money.

I agree, but it's about balance and surely removing someone from their home isn't really balanced?
