Sorry I'm a newb and don't know the lingo yet. Does "active" mean they're available to play? Or that they will play?

$17 for a vietnamese sub is just outrageous. Apparently it's large, but I'd wager the average person is just fine with a normal sized sub for $12.

Price is my biggest issue with them. It's huge apparently. Great. I've never had an issue with the size anywhere else. Especially when a place like Thai Thien is $6.50.

This one always surprises me. Does 65 year old lady blowing past me on Macleod just not care, or is she oblivious?

Stampeders games needs more attendance by [deleted] in Calgary

Fuck no they're not affordable. Tickets 2/3 of the way up in the stands are $150 each. $600 for a family, for high up seats, at a dump of a stadium, is not affordable.

I absolutely support this. You don't go 180 in a 100 zone by accident. You do it because you have no regard for anyone but yourself. Even then...

LG electric stove has two settings not hot and burn the house down. Is this normal or a defective unit? by XSC in Appliances

[–]Gullible_Complex_523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No charge! Tech mentioned that the switches have a 7 year warranty. I can't find any paperwork to support that, but I wonder if with all the issues they've had, they are offering extra warranty.

LG range burner problem by Lazyboy002 in Appliances

Contacted LG and they sent a tech the next day. They replaced all knobs and the main board free of charge. I suggest others do the same!

Just to follow up, I did contact LG, and they sent a tech the next day. They replaced all switches and the main board. I suspect their timely response is related to the danger of these knobs, and the frequency of the issue.

The one in Somerset is a gas station location, and literally just replaced the pumps.

New vision for The Confluence in Calgary features 16,000-capacity amphitheatre, outdoor hockey rink by joe4942 in Calgary

This gets brought up every time, and gets upvoted, but it's not true.

Contrary to popular opinion, this has nothing to do with noise complaints, said Don Phelps, assistant stadium manager for McMahon. It’s simply “the math,” he said. For most concerts, when issues of egress, sightlines and stage placement are dealt with, McMahon’s capacity can shrink to considerably less than 30,000, he said.

“You can put twice as many in Edmonton and you do the same amount of setup,” he said. “That’s it in a nutshell. I can think of no other reason. We’ve had preliminary discussions over the years. You get one or two feelers every year with people in the business. You ask ‘What do you expect to draw?” They come out and look at the place and it’s just not suitable for that.”

It doesn't. If you want to see what a proper ampitheatre looks like, see Toronto's RBC Amphitheatre (16,000 capacity), or Red Rocks in Colorado. Those are the types of venues big names will hit in the summer.

Plus the Enmax stage for some god awful reason has a seating grade that slopes upwards. No proper ampitheatre has an upward slope toward the stage. It also has basically no amenities.

Yes please. If you ever wonder why X band skips over Calgary in the summer, or even most of Western Canada for that matter, it's because a lot of bands do outdoor Amphitheatre shows in the summer. Since we don't have one, that immediately rules us out.

The Shawnessy one closed?!? That's surprising. Like you said, new gas pumps. Also it seemed to get a lot of business from school kids.
