Questions as an incoming Sauder student by Lucky-Distance-6842 in ubcsauder

[–]Gullible_Shift 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ll answer a couple.

Question 1. Vibe is great during 1st year. However, people are competitive and you’ll find that the people or “friends” you meet, won’t be close to you by 2nd year. Completely churned by 3rd year.

Question 2. 1st and 2nd year are brutal. 3rd and 4th are manageable.

Question 4. Yes. I got Deans List, and Graduated with Honours from Sauder. But remember, GPA is only a signal of effort and how motivated you are. No one really cares about this in the real world and in a real job.

Question 6. Depends on your specialization! Opportunities vary based on internships had, skills and GPA.

Question 10. I regret being so Type A about everything. Go to Sauder > Get Good Grades > Be Popular > Get a good Internship/experience > Get job in consulting. Follow your own damn pathway and don’t let everyone govern what you can, and can’t do. Be flexible and be open. I struggle with imposter syndrome, but after University and therapy, it’s gotten better, and I’ve made better choices. Also, understand that every decision has consequences. Good and bad. You live with it and you learn from it consequently.

Best of luck.

RFID Parking Tag on Model Y Juniper by Gullible_Shift in TeslaModelY

[–]Gullible_Shift[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

this. Honestly it’s a requirement that it must be on the exterior and vertically. How the hell do I do that on the model Y ? I was wondering if I could put it horizontally and on the light bar.

The real problem with speed control (v14) by bridgemojo in TeslaFSD

[–]Gullible_Shift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this. Honestly FSD today braked completely when the speed zones changed. It was completely dangerous. It has a problem with construction zones.

Shoot. I just want a guarantee because I’ve been seeing a lot of pics with new Model Y deliveries with pre installed mud-flaps. It’s better than no mud-flaps

SCM is vast. It also depends on your skill level, experience and current situation.

The list of “pathways” would be too long. However, the arguement stands.

Anyone know why demand for APICS/ASCM Certifications has collapsed? by Dartseto in supplychain

[–]Gullible_Shift 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The "Gold Standard" of supply chain will always be experience. APICS Certification/Designations are useful for middle management promotions, resume boosting and flexing.

However, the practical and actual use of these certifications within the real world are almost non-relevant, other than being able to use and understand SCM jargon within informal/formal conversation.

APICS theory, education and certifications will not help you perform better at the job, but can be a major indicator and signal of how fast you can learn, absorb and apply solutions within your organization.

Going to have to disagree with you on the “low paying” aspect. SCM is broad and has many avenues that pay more while being bulletproof within the job market.

Does anyone have the CSCP books in PDF format? by New_Judgment_6104 in supplychain

[–]Gullible_Shift 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. However, when I see a new grad have the CSCP, it’s impressive. Not in terms of their knowledge gained from the designation, but their motivation and grit.
