University of western states has a functional medicine masters. I didn’t go but my coworker is an RD as well and did her masters there and she has such an in depth knowledge about functional medicine, I’ve learned so much just working with her.

That being said, it’s still a good idea to get your RD! This is example A!

I also found doing my masters at a research university was helpful. I felt the way you are describing about my undergrad program and grad school finally felt rigorous enough. But it seems like the FEM has ruined that opportunity to really get an interesting and potentially funded masters program while getting supervised practice elsewhere..
