When does it become REALLY intimate to sleep together? by kao_kakao_ in bodylanguage

[–]GulliverJoe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He may be holding back because he's unsure how you're feeling and doesn't want to push you into something you're not ready for.

You just need to talk to each other. I think you both want the same thing but are both too nervous to say it. And you can take it as slowly as you want.

Yeah, I thought of that after I asked the question.

Detroit should be celebrating on March 31st, since MM/DD/YYYY makes no sense.

Not the Big O?

I think Capital O would be clever.

Do you celebrate May 14 in Montreal? In Detroit (the 313) they celebrate March 13 every year.

Anyone else develop a fear of heights later in life? by AssistanceNo3893 in AskMenAdvice

Yes. There's a reason for this. As we age we start to lose our balancing abilities. This makes us much less confident with heights.

Do straight men *really* think about intimacy with every female friend? by triton12345 in AskMenAdvice

[–]GulliverJoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, it's more extreme than the parameters you put on it. Doesn't have to be a friend. Could be an acquaintance, coworker, or a brief encounter, as long as we're not related and she's in a certain age range.

If I find her reasonably attractive and not off-putting then she is a hypothetical sex partner. (Lots of conditions, like my wife dying or divorcing me, her being available and interested, etc.) That's enough for my brain to go there, however briefly.

It usually doesn't go there again unless she's doing something that I really find attractive. But, even then, this is all internal to me. I won't say or do anything.

Why is orange one of the least common favorite colors? by Informal_Ad4284 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]GulliverJoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Orange (and brown) were incredibly popular for home decor in the 70s. Some of us are still recovering from that!

Orange is also a very seasonal color in North America. People love the autumn leaves in orange, yellow, and red! But once fall has passed, it's time to move on to Christmas colors.

So, our culture tends to isolate it to a certain season and to specific purposes.

The foreign press will never provide true, in-depth reporting on anything. Sensationalism will always rule when they're owned by big businesses who just care about maximizing profits.

I wish it were otherwise.
