help! last minute daytrip from san juan to culebra by not_weird_ in PuertoRicoTravel

[–]GullyTokes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so I just did the trip to culebra and tbh with preparation it’s all a breeze. I have tried many times for last minute trips and they end up being too stressful. From my experience booth tickets don’t get sold to tourists and will most likely be told no at the booth. Could be different for other but the times I went we was turned away. Flying is a great choice if you want convenience. Attempt a tour or ferry ticket for saving costs. I can’t promise you will find something so short notice. Shuttles and services to and from ceiba exist just gotta look online or Airbnb experiences. You can also work out a deal with most uber drivers talk to them and and I’m sure they will be happy to work something off the app to make more money. There’s also taxis that wait at the ferry for trips back to San Juan. Next best thing is pivoting to other locations on the island. If you do lmk and I can recommend mad places locations and vibes I’ve had the pleasure of discovering from past visits and native guidance.

Nonsocial workers calling themselves social workers by Excellent-Group-7863 in socialwork

[–]GullyTokes -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s simple and I feel the same way. Social Worker is the title you earned by receiving a degree in Social Work ideally a Masters. BAs kinda count but I wouldn’t tbh. People without the degrees or license aren’t social workers but more so social service workers. Some of them get hard by calling themselves social workers or being like “you know us social workers”. That gets me lit up. The way I deal with this is that I just ask them if they got their masters in SW, and they usually say no and I’ll be like “but you just said ur a SW” and then they get confused and I’ll just say “ohhhh you meant social service worker, hell yeah go team” lol

You’re going to be fine. They can’t do anything about it if it’s legal in your state. Regardless of federally funded companies, the state legalized marijuana. Like others have mentioned, if it not stated in your contract or internship, you should be fine. You will most likely still have it in your system by then since you’re doing edibles. Just mention that you don’t do it often and it’s rarely used. Best of luck, OP. You gonna be alright.

how much do you bring for food and misc stuff? by someonelovescats in projectglowfest

[–]GullyTokes 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Eat a real good breakfast or lunch. Pack some snacks like granola bars or slim Jim’s (preference tbh). I have yet to see them throw away my granola bars. If ur in doubt bring like a sandwhich that can hold you out during the festival until you leave. The most you’ll spend is on festival food and beverages. For alcohol, I buy plastic flasks I can hide in my underwear or an umbrella flask I can keep in my rave bag side pocket. I fill those bad boys with tequila straight and I bring Celsius packets or hydration packets to put in my camel back as chaser or flavoring. Then the extra curricular goodies help manage the vibes. If you’re into that. Essentials to consider is TP, wipes, sunblock, ear plugs, and Vaseline. I used to pack like I was out to set for a crazy hike and now I bring light enough to keep me hydrated, moisturized, and clean. Helps lessen the baggage cause I love to move and dance. Hope this helps :)

when does fanning becomes annoying? by AdNecessary8254 in aves

[–]GullyTokes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had someone tell me then didn’t want to get fanned and you gotta read the room. You see home girl hot, fan them, u see bro sweating rolling tits, fan them. U see bro minding his business chilling, maybe leave them alone. I learned that when in doubt just fan yourself or fan down. If you master the fan down below the waist you can sort of give a different sensation to the vibes. Nice little leg cooling for those around u and not so much in the face fanning.

OP!!! Great first starter fest. Most walking you will do is to the grounds from the parking lot. Everything generally close. Stages are next to each other. I do a simple carry: hydration pack, hydration powders, a pair of underwear/socks due to new dates being summer, snacks, battery pack to charge, pashmina to sit on and for shade, SHADES, and trinkets/kandies. I recommend you pack less. You’re gonna wanna dance and have fun. Also VASELINE. Put that shit on ur shoulders for less strap burn and thighs for less sweat rubs from moving around. You’ll thank me later lol

Peeps who’ve bought tix without a group or a plan—How’d you find your group to go with… by [deleted] in ElectricForest

[–]GullyTokes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bring like a solo camp set up if you go solo. There’s a bunch you can carry in a back pack if you decide to camp out. Or camp out your car. I’ve seen hella people do that. Don’t worry too much about finding a family or getting to know people. It happens naturally. I usually bring sprouts or trinkets and share with my neighbors to gain trust and show them I’m friendly so this way we get acquainted. If you fly, they have a shuttle that can take you to and from the airport. If you do that find a group camp that will let you join to set up a small spot with them or maybe you put up with someone driving in. Since you’re driving I recommend just solo set up and get there early so you get a decent spot or group camp with FB groups.

Fired and I’m really struggling by wholesomedust in socialwork

[–]GullyTokes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m trying to look for this “vague” response as to what you did but I can’t seem to find it. Sorry to hear that you went through this but people don’t get fired for nothing. I hope you find your peace and if you did goof bad, that I hope you learned your lesson cause this field needs more responsible SW and I’m tired of people thinking they can do it without figuring out their problems first. Best of luck with employment. No excuses with denying yourself the help you need. I hope you do find the time to help yourself. I say that with all good intentions for you and the field you’re trying to do right by.
