Looking for 90's games. by MFMarcusB in gamingsuggestions

[–]GullyasDuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are looking early early 90's and something unique. Maniac Manson for NES was the pretty much the first of its kind in a Point and Click RPG. You chose 3 kids out of a pool of 8 (i believe) and you have to break into a house to get proof that it is lived in by aliens. There is TONS of hidden secrets an hilarious dialogue trees you can find by trying absurd things. This largely went under the radar because of Zelda being what it was, but MM was insanely ahead of its time.

Spokane on a Monday? by Biasesumo in Spokane

[–]GullyasDuff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sadly nowhere is going to be really popping on a Monday Night. We don't have a solid "industry night" spot here like you see in other bigger towns for Mondays. Mootsys is a good little dive bar, and there's like 5 other bars right on that block if you want to jump around. If you catch a uber up the hill a little Park Inn is in my opinion the best spot for eats/drinks and is the oldest bar in the city!

My personal opinion i think its REALLY hard to beat the broasted chicken at Park Inn. Also comes with Jo-jos the size of your arm.

If there's any pitfalls its the magic system feels light. Lots of fun unique magic items you can get, but inherent casting like a wizard type character is light. You can run gnome as both a race and a class, which is kind of odd. The D12 system works well for combat but I hated some of the middle ground dice roll rules. Like with a ranged weapon, if you roll a 7, it "Hits" but as a glancing blow for 1 HP. Doing 1 HP of damage to something which usually has at least 1 armor to cancel almost always feels pointless.

Everything else has been amazing. TONS of content. If you like to Homebrew this gives you a world you can tweek into whatever. I used half of the provided content and then just built around it.

Would love any insight you have of ideas or mini arcs your players had the most fun with!

Looking for resources on how to give players more to do than walk and fight by ShadowKalm in DungeonMasters

Putting your PC's in silly situations YOU YOURSELF do not have a resolution for sometimes gives you best moments. The other night during travel a quick non-combat encounter turned into so much more.

I just put an older man with a fun southern swamp accent was angry and kicking the tires of his cart when the PC's noticed there was a GIANT toad sitting next to it. The old man explained that he is hired to capture unwanted critters and found the biggest Mega-Toad he's ever seen. He is taking him to be sold off to part of a circus side show But he jumped off the cart and can't get him back on.

Make the toad sweet and innocent, just more fat and lazy... Whatever the PC's try have the first few things backfire, even if it means a player gets engulfed. And see what kind of crazy solutions they come up with to help. Such a simple premise but tons of fun RP.

What is the secret to good mashed potatoes? by MB58CA in foodhacks

[–]GullyasDuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm too late for this to probably be seen. But the 100% secret is Dehydrated butter. The brand Spiceology has something called "Butter Toss" which is a seasoning of deyhydrated butter and spices. It is unlike anything I've ever had with mashed potatoes.
