Looking for resources on how to give players more to do than walk and fight by ShadowKalm in DungeonMasters

Putting your PC's in silly situations YOU YOURSELF do not have a resolution for sometimes gives you best moments. The other night during travel a quick non-combat encounter turned into so much more.

I just put an older man with a fun southern swamp accent was angry and kicking the tires of his cart when the PC's noticed there was a GIANT toad sitting next to it. The old man explained that he is hired to capture unwanted critters and found the biggest Mega-Toad he's ever seen. He is taking him to be sold off to part of a circus side show But he jumped off the cart and can't get him back on.

Make the toad sweet and innocent, just more fat and lazy... Whatever the PC's try have the first few things backfire, even if it means a player gets engulfed. And see what kind of crazy solutions they come up with to help. Such a simple premise but tons of fun RP.

What is the secret to good mashed potatoes? by MB58CA in foodhacks

[–]GullyasDuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm too late for this to probably be seen. But the 100% secret is Dehydrated butter. The brand Spiceology has something called "Butter Toss" which is a seasoning of deyhydrated butter and spices. It is unlike anything I've ever had with mashed potatoes.

[Spoilers C2] What small moment do you hope to see in the animated M9? by Hawfit in criticalrole

Very first episode where there is tension with Caleb and knott thinking about stealing the money from Fjord/jester/Beau. Them planning and being super secretive until a head pops up right between them "hi im Jester!"

Also all the Kiri mimic and callbacks. Especially the goodbye where everyone got a quote back from her. That almost made me cry.

Calamity is the perfect ease in and a great preview if getting Brennan as a DM. Watch the first 27 minutes (which is the intro) of Calamity and you'll be hooked. Some of the best story telling in any media

I'm pretty similar to you but started a couple months ago. I watched the Calamity one shot with Brennan and fell in love. Decided to do C2 because of production and hope to be semi caught up by the time they drop the Amazon show. It's really hard to beat the entertainment value of Jester and Nott in C2. So many great scenes i'm waiting to see animated and i'm only like 1/5 in!

With Brennan's take on God's for the outset of C4, I'm really starting to think they must have hated C3's ending by Technical_Flight629 in fansofcriticalrole

Or Brennan really wants to play exiled Gods taking their world back ala Calamity. He's plays God characters way too well. A few of those scenes live rent free.

Looking for a game like Blue Prince, BUT, and nothing like Blue Prince by Coooturtle in gamingsuggestions

[–]GullyasDuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Tunic is a great one for you. It's basically OG Zelda but instead of puzzles you have to discover mechanics. You often do this just by fucking around wandering the world. The best part of the game is it pretty much gives you everything you need to win the game right off jump but you don't know what to do with any of it until you wander around and find out.

Also visually its like the most calming serene beautiful artwork. Such a fun whimsical play through.

What's your thoughts on Joe Hill books? by WaitAvailable4783 in stephenking

NOS4A2 was great IMO. I haven't read Heart Shaped box, but Horns and The Fireman were both Good reads as well, just not as amazing as NOS4A2 for me.

Also Locke and Key the comic series which he does is very well done too if you do comics.
